I've had chronic morning sickness, bringing up everything I eat. I wasn't able to leave the house because I was constantly vomitting. Its been the same in all my pregnancies up past 30 weeks!

I was 12 weeks yesterday and for the last 3 days I haven't vomitted... I know that should be good, but I'm panicking now because I've never stopped being sick this early.

I'm still nauseous, very much so at times, but no being sick.

My scan isn't till Thursday and I'm just worried, arghhh, it never ends does it?!

I know you know this but no two pregnancies are the same, and you have been unlucky so far.
Still, can understan why you might be worried, hope the scan on Thursday puts your mind to rest.

yyy pregnancies can be completely different

Enjoy it!

I know that, people say that but all 3 of my previous pgs have been very much the same - me puking my guts up everyday till near birth.

I should be happy... I will be happy if I see that little heart beat and am still not throwing up :)

:(
Not being flippant, but if you toss a coin 4 times you could get 3 tails then a head - could be purely down to chance.

JiggeryPopery · 09/10/2010 15:44

If I spent 30 weeks puking I would console myself by saying 'Well it's hormones, therefore the baby must be developing along nicely.'

And then a pregnancy with much less sickness.....well that would make me worry (needlessly) because I would tell myself there must be a problem.

Is there an element of that with you, TO?

TotorosOcarina · 09/10/2010 15:55

yes jiggery I suppose so.

Doesn't help that a family member went for her 12 week scan to find she'd had a MMC :( after her symptoms stopped a few weeks before the scan

My mum had 4 pregnancies/5 kids and each one of hers was progressively less sicky than the last. The first one she was sick all the way through, the second one was about 6 months, the third one (me) she stopped by about 18 weeks and the last one (twins) she was only sick in the first trimester.

JiggeryPopery · 09/10/2010 16:01

Oh how sad. Well of course that's preying on your mind.

Start a thread called 'Tell me how different your pregnancies were' and you'll find tons of mners will tell you that they were very different. And a bunch who'll say (like you would until now!) they were very similar!

You can go through a pregnancy almost symptomless - not everyone gets sick/piles/backache/stretchmarks/swollen ankles etc. And we call those people 'lucky cows!' Envy

RedWellyYellowWelly · 09/10/2010 16:15

I was sick as a dog all through my last 2 PG's.
This time, nothing - like you, I was terrified and convinced there was something wrong, but everything's fine.
All pregnancies really are different!

(my neighbour had HG during her first and second PG - sick all day every day from 6 weeks to birth, had to be hospitalised with both. 3rd PG, no symptoms whatsoever - the baby is now 6 months old)

Try not to worry.
Good luck with your scan xx
