Blood Pressure

Hi all I am 40+1 with my first baby and I had a midwife appointment today. My blood pressure has always been around 110 over 60 but today after she had left I noticed in my notes that it was 130 over 80. My midwife never said anything but should I be worried. Its just that it seems like a big jump. She never tested my urine as she forgot her dipsticks!

the danger level is generally 150/90 and you are below that, but they also look for an increase of more than 20 in the bottom number in pregnant women - and yours has gone up from 60 to 80. You need your wee checked for protein. Have you got any new swelling that you haven't had for a while? Or a headache? Or rib pain? Or spots in front of your eyes? If you have any of those symptoms you need to seek medical attention immediately, otherwise its probably ok to wait till monday when you need to phone your midwife and tell her you want your BP checked again and your wee checked.
Personally I think its negligent of your midwife to let you go with a BP increase like that and no wee test or further advice/information and if I was you I wouldn't have much faith in her!!!!

I rang my maternity ward and they said i shouldnt be worried about my blood pressure even though I mentioned that my urine wasnt checked I dont have any of the other signs of pre eclampsia but my sister has had 6 babies and she said if the same had happened to her then her midwife would have sent her to the hospital to be checked out. My midwife is coming back out to see me on monday if I havent gone into labour before then to give me another sweep.
