racing heart, particularly after eating

Afternoon ladies. I'm currently 30+2.

Now I know that some palpitations and an increased heart rate are normal due to the increased blood flow, but I'm being driven crazy now. I keep forgetting to mention it to the midwife/doctor.

My heart just randomly starts racing about four or five times a day, especially after breakfast and sometimes after dinner - it doesn't seem to matter particularly what I eat, either. It's almost always when I'm sitting down. I've started to measure it and it's between 110-120bpm each time. My normal resting heartrate at the moment is about 90bpm.

I do feel better when I go and lie down on my side but it doesn't actually go away - it usually takes about 30 minutes but this morning it took well over an hour to settle down.

If this is normal I really don't want to bring it up as I've always got so many other questions for the midwife! Anyone else had this?

Give them a ring - its what they are there for. No experience of this, I only have palpitations, not a racing heart. Hope all ok

Like the PP said, give your MW a ring.

hi there, i've had really bad palpitations for the last fortnight. it's the same sort of thing as you've got only my heart misses a beat and then judders back into its normal rhythm. i'm 26 weeks pregnant. it's very common in pregnancy but worth getting checked out. i hate it!
