baby heart beat for early scan?

I have an appointment with a doctor for an early scan this week. However, I've just realised I messed up my due date. I thought I was 7 1/2 weeks pregnant but actually I'm 6 1/2 weeks only. Is it still worth doing the appointment or should I delay it?

The heart beat is present from 6 weeks usually.

Why are you having an early scan? If it's just for your own reassurance and not 'needed' then I'd go when you're sure you're 7 or 8 weeks to avoid unnecessary angst if you can't see much at an earlier scan.

Clomid baby privately so the consultant (and me) want to check things are all okay. I've also been having some pain which makes me nervous, but that's a subsidiary reason.

You can often see the heartbeat from 6 and a half weeks, but that is kind of the "minimum" - so you may or may not see it. So I guess just to say, don't worry if you don't see it!! If you could delay the scan by a couple of days, then you are more likely to see it and feel a bit more reassured.

Appreciate even a couple of days feels like a long wait though!! I had a scan at 5+3 and at 7 weeks with this one, just saw a sac and yolk at the first one, saw a heartbeat at the second.

Very best of luck, hope it all goes ok. Also, pain is quite normal too (as long as it is not severe and accompanied by bleeding) - I had crampy type pains up to about 9 weeks - I think it can happen for lots of reasons - your body adjusting/stretching, or in my case digestive problems. Hard not to worry though.

Good luck!!

I had a scan at 6weeks and one day into my pregnancy and seen the heartbeat! It was like a little light _ I think though if you want, wait another week or so, so then maybe you can see the heartbeat?! I can imagine how scary it'll feel to not see the heartbeat and you'll start panicking and want another scan soon...
Unless you're bleeding while experiencing cramping, you should be fine! It'll be stretching! You'll be fine! Be warned though, the gel IS cold, and it's uncomfortable having someone press down on your tum when you have a very full bladder! Lol x
