Firstly, apologies for the TMI... Confused

I've had diarrhoea for the past 4 days. Not chronic, but it's there all the same.

Is this a definite pre-cursor to labour? Braxton hicks coming and going as usual, pelvic and back low-level pain... nothing too uncomfortable or unusual...

I've been having "engagement pains" low down in my abdomen, which are getting more intense as the days go by.

Has anyone else had this and not gone into labour shortly after?

I'm 35+2 and definitely had a few days in the last couple weeks with loads of BHs, sore bump and soreness "down there" and diarrhea, but thankfully it hadn't come to anything. I don't expect to go into labour as all of my other three were over a week late. So I would say all other things being equal and normal, diarrhea isn't necessarily a sign of imminent labour. HTH! :)

It does!

Thanks Sarah

Am about to go on mat leave next week so was hoping for a bit of a rest first before DC arrives!

Good luck with your fourth LO Smile

Thanks! :) hope you have a nice restful maternity leave. Ooh, another thing that is interesting is I was having very contraction-like pains at 30 weeks (eek!) and read that dehydration can bring on premature labour, so I drank a bunch of water and they went away. Might be coincidence, but esp if you've had some diarrhea it's best to make sure you are well hydrated...
