Bending Down (just a bit of a download really..!)

Hi all. I'm just coming up for 20 weeks and am already having trouble bending down. When I empty the dishwasher, for example, I get a dull ache in my lower back and occasionally some round ligament pain (at least that's what I think it is!).

To be honest I have this thing in my head that am still in early pregnancy (I don't have much of a bump yet) and I feel like a bit if a fake if I moan about these things in RL...So I thought I'd come on here and share Blush

I had that and now have a really messed up lower back. It is worth asking your midwife or GP for tips on how to bend down properly - basically don't bend from the waist anymore, squat down, facing the object you want to reach squarely and use your thighs to power down and up. Basically, think 'plie' ( although you don't have to turn your legs out).

I wish I had done this, am now 30 weeks and wearing a back brace.:(

Oops,Blush the link should be this plie one, not the holo one from the other thread I was on!

If you are already having back problems then you can self refer to the hospital for a physio appointment. Wish I had known this sooner as I suffered with my back for ages and then when I was eventually told that you could do this, I had to wait over 3 weeks for an appoinment.
