I've been having a really achy groin on both sides for the last couple of days now - I'm 37+ 5 days pregnant.

Is this normal / possible sign of anything? - I've not had this before.

I was stood up for a long time early in the week and wondered if this could have 'set it off?'

I feel like I need to walk around holding my tummy up to relieve it a bit.

Hmm

It sounds a lot like Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) to me. At this stage your pelvis is loosening up to be able to let the baby engage and be released through the pelvis, and the bones at the front can separate to the extent that they cause pain. That's where I get mine, but it can also be in the hip joints.

Best to speak to your midwife about it, as they might want to measure the comfortable distance you can move your legs apart so that you don't over-stretch during labour and harm the ligaments. I had a treatment by an osteopath, which has made mine much more comfortable, but it is a pain!!

Could be SPD. I have this and describe the pain as feeling like ive been kicked in the fanjo a million times!
If it feels like that, Id suggest you have SPD...unfortuantly there doesnt appear much you can do :(
