I thought this was an old wives tale until I found myself telling people the same thing over and over.

What are your worst lapses to date?

Mine was leaving my debit card in the machine at Sainsburys. They have kindly sent it back to the bank for me but it'll take 3-5 working days for the new card and longer for the pin number to arrive.

It made me feel like a right plonker until I realised that DH will have to do the food shopping! Grin

I couldn't remember my computer password (which I use every single morning) at work...twice in the same day!!
IT must have thought that I completely lost the plotGrin

Whilst being going through IVF and taking progesterone pessaries, I had this all the time!

I couldn't rember the word for "hand-wash"& "hand-cream" and completely blanked out and asked a bemused assistant in the Molten Brown store if they had toilet and cream sets whilst miming washing my hands.

I couldn't remember my dogs name (Lola)- I heard her yowling after a cat and said to OH "Was that Yola?" I knew it was wrong but for about 30 seconds I could not for the life of me say her name- It really frightened me - I was pointing at her saying "Yola" until I burst into tears and DH said its Lola. I was so upset and scared.

When asked by waitress whether I wanted hot or cold milk with my coffee, I answered 'hot cold please' and repeated it when she asked again, had to have problem explained by DH...

Can no longer make a cup of tea and converse at same time...

no idea what my mobile no is anymore, which is interesting when giving it to bank call centre person...

And many more, but memory too bad to dredge them up!

I have sudden short term memory issues and often have to ask my DH stuff several times, knowing full well I've already asked him.

I'm normally one of those people who is good with names. Well I've lost that ability and its not just new people. People I've known for years are affected too!

My DH came home with a bottle of wine which I'd asked him to buy in order to put some in the risotto I was making. I handed him a tin-opener to open it with.

I forget really simple everyday words. I just draw a complete blank, then I attempt to (badly) gesticulate what I mean. I find it very annoying and frustrating.
