Is anyone else really struggling to eat with morning sickness?

And I'm using the term 'morning sickness' very loosely here Smile

I keep reading on here that some people are feeling nauseous and sick, but they are still managing to eat meals.

With my sickness, Im managing to keep some food down if I do eat, if I stay still for half an hour. But my main problem is that I have gone off all food, and literally dread eating. The thought of putting any food in my mouth makes me feel really sick, and most food just turns my stomach.

Is anyone else like this?

Yes I feel the same, however, I know that if I don't eat I feel much, much worse. So have been really forcing myself to have three small meals. Dry cereal, toast, and something equally plain for dinner, like some pasta with a bit of cheese, or some bland soup. Fizzy drinks seem to make me feel loads better - lucozade or Dr. Pepper are great. Trying not to drink too much of these.

I haven't been able to eat much, but it does make me feel better. Unfortunately I don't seem to have lost any weight as a result - typical. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon.

Yes, been feeling very much like this. Threw up last nights dinner, woke up starving but thren threw up breakfast so have spent all morning being really hungry but unable to face food.

I also find fizzy drinks help a bit, been craving fanta but have been trying to resist and having fizzy water with cordial instead as I'm probably eating too much sugar elsewhere in my diet as all I want to eat is bread, cheese and haribo.

yes yes yes!! think this is 'normal'. You really really do feel worse if you don't eat though. Try and graze on what you can manage. I had to force it down most of the time and would sit crying tears into my food as I just couldn't eat it. I'm 19 weeks and last week was the first time since 4 weeks pg where I actually quite enjoyed eating - it was very exciting to actually want normal food after weeks of nothing but toast and jam and crisps!

I'm 8wks and yesterday was the first day in about 7 that I had 100% food retention. Monday and Tuesday were awful and after a while I just decided sleep was better... Mini Babybel seem to help me...

Yes, I know how you are feeling, I actually couldn't eat, meals would just have to be put in front of me with the hope I could at least pick - many meals ended up binned. Even thinking about what's for dinner or writting a shopping list made me ill- i didnt cook at all for the first months. Then came the fad stage where suddenly I would randomly 'need' some food then hate it the next day. I lost 3kg within two weeks at one point.

Now at 18+6 food bores me, but I can think about it and can often cook. I have also started taking my vitamins this week, which made me violently sick before.

The stage will pass, I hope that happens quickly for you so you can enjoy your pregnancy x

Yep, another one here. Had the same thing where couldn't bear to think about food let alone eat. I found most drinks awful too but caffiene free coke was okay. Only advice is to get rid of anything that smells and sleep as much as you can until it passes, you will have days where you feel a but better and make the most of them (mini calippos were good then) but try not to worry as the baby will be getting everything he/she needs from mum.

It's horrible and you're not alone, mine cleared about 13 weeks and now at 21 weeks feel quite normal but have off days still.

I didn't have any sickness and only occassional nausea with my last two pregnancies, so have had a terrible shock this time. I can't believe how awful 'morning sickness' is and how lucky I was before... I am feeling nauseous all day, but feel that I have to eat constantly to make myself feel better. I must be putting on so much weight at the moment. Cannot wait to get to 12 weeks and hope this all goes.
