Hi

Im 37+4 weeks pregnant.

I have the most unbelievable pelvic pressure, it feels like I have been kicked really hard in the fan*y!! Every move of the baby is grinding against my cervix and it all feels very weird and uncomfortable.

It feels as if I were to push my waters would break and the babys head would pop out!! (i know it wont! LOL)

Is this all normal for this stage? Does it mean anything!?

My first daughter was induced and I had none of this so cant compare

Don't know if its normal as such but I do know that I'm having the same sensations and that I reported this on another thread and that others recognised it as well. Feels like little one is going to be bypass labour all together and simply pop out yes/no? Like you I didn't experience this first time round but as I've been having this on and off for the last 4 weeks I'm not reading anything into it other than baby is engaged/disengaged etc.

Yup, me too! Not comfortable! Try changing position lying down to standing up or rolling over. Sometimes eases it. Had it with no2, but not with no1 - perhaps everything had flopped - and no2 was late.

Hi Beccaroll
When I first read your message I thought you were my sister! She is 37weeks + also and experiencing exactly the same thing. It is her first baby though. I had the same sensation with both my pregnancies and neither child ever popped out unfortunately !!!!!

Strangely enough, my theory when I had this sensation was that the baby's head had engaged, but sis was told yesterday by consultant that this hasn't happened yet. So sorry can't be of any help as to why, but I do think it is quite normal. Take care and good luck!

Yup been having this since about 36 weeks. Keep hoping things will go pop but then after a while goes quiet again. Can only describe it as feeling like the baby is pushing down as if it wants to get out. Bloomin uncomfy though.

My story is the same as Becca's - induced the first time so don't know what to expect. I feel equally uncomfortable at 38 weeks (but the heat is not helping much either!)and keep thinking "This must be it.." so far though, it obviously hasn't been!

Thanks for the replies - so really it doesnt tell us much except we are big and uncomfortable!!

I saw the midwife this morning and the head is now 3/5's engaged so maybe it was the babies head burrowing down more last night.

Its still there today but nowhere near as bad as last night!
