Don't think so, think its just your first you need to have the full bladder for so they can see what they need to, but I might be wrong

No, you don't need a full bladder but don't empty your bladder literaly before you're called in as this can make baby get into an awkward position. Don't worry, enjoy!! Xx

Don't drink too much! I was told that the more you drink the clearer the scan picture by a friend Hmm.

Cue me knocking back about four pints of water with a 20wk bladder - NOT comfortable waiting the 30 odd minutes before the scan.

They told me my bladder was too full and made me go to the toilet before they could scan me. Blush

A pint about an hour before is plenty. (Although you will still be bursting to go by the time it's finished)

Good luck and congratulations btw. Smile

The best bit is when you are absolutely bursting for a pee, but they can't get your baby in the right position so they tell you to go to the loo and "let a little bit out"!!! As if, once you start, you'll ever be able to stop Grin.

Good luck.

For my 12wk scan she said I had the biggest bladder she'd ever seen and told me to go and let out half. How the fuck do you know how much is half of the wee you are holding, ffs Hmm :o

Agree with Bitter, don't drink too much. I was told to empty my bladder as I was squashing the baby (I only had 1 pint!) and they couldn't get the measurements. I was sent to empty but it filled right back up again soon after I got comfy on the bed. The scan pics weren't as clear as the 12 week scan I had done privately (when I hadn't purposely tried to fill my bladder)
