Just had BFP with much wanted DC#3 and thrilled to bits.. but must confess (ah vanity! )I am slightly wearied at the thought of the great bloat-up/slog-slim-down all over again! Just wondering if this time round I might be able to get through it and come out looking less like the Pilsbury Dough Mother than previously.. Ladies - have any of you managed to pass through a pregnancy and come out the other side the same size as before? What happens if you actually have the willpower not to grow a baby out of doughnuts and hot buttered crumpets? Any super-glam slep/yummies out there give me any top tips?! Obviously brewing up a healthy baby is foremost priority but I've just been looking at my gargantuan nursing bras and weeping inside....

LOL!! fraid not for me but my sister is thinner now than when she got pg and her daughter only 6months old, mind you she did get PND and was prescribed anit depressants but even she says what an excellent side effect the weight loss was!!

Obviously not making light of the actual PND as am more than aware of how it affects everyone but in her case she thought it quite amusing.

I however took a bit longer, and now after a 6 year age gap and 40yrs old know its a long uphill battle and actually wonder if its even worth bothering Grin

I had dc3 and 3 days after birth could fit into the same trousers I was wearing pre-pg. I'm not a skinny minny by any stretch - 14 on a good day, but it proves that you don't need to put on lots of weight!

And I didn't 'diet'. I ate what I wanted but no more.

you lucky thing!!! I only put on just under 2 st with DS1 it wasn't the weight but the shape of my "belt" area i.e arse and fanny that had somehow spread??!!!!! even now have to be careful otherwise have a hoof in certain jeans!!

Yes, was 12 and a half stone when I got pg with DC3 and weighed 11 the day after she was born, am now down to 10 following a year's breastfeeding and running round after 3 under 5 DC's!!

I did lots of exercise, mostly walking but a bit of swimming. This had the added bonus of a good delivery with DC3, rather than the forceps I had with first 2. I was also careful to eat a healthy diet, lots of fruit and veg and as little salt as poss as I swelled up to the size of a small counytry with the first 2. Drank loads of water etc, etc.

The heartbreak diet was also a factor as my delightful ex had an affair while I was pregnant, I wont recommend this approach though Wink

thats probably why my arse is bigger wasn't anywhere near as good as you on exercise part, although i was a full time nanny to 2 young kids but just tried to watch what i ate, this time have no appetite whatsoever so have only put on 4lbs am 17+5 but once agin my butt seems to have a mind of its ownConfused sorry to hear about ex, mine just went out to Afghan for 6 months when DS was 4 months Sad ironically, he is due there again when this one due!
