Bouncing about during scan

I was supposed to have my twelve week nuchal transulency scan this afternoon, but s/he was bouncing around/ sitting bolt upright/ refusing to lie down to the extent that they couldn't take the measurements. So we are none the wiser about anything, although the impromptu gymnastics display was very entertaining.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I had a dating scan at 10+3 and baby was all over the shop! Jumping, turning, bouncing and everything.

But when I had my 12-week scan, I had to do a weird hip shimmy to wake baby up as it was in the wrong position for nuchal measurement and it looked most grumpy at being woken.

mine ws the opposite sonographer had to keep prodding my tummy to make baby move it was having a nice sleep at the time don't think it appreciated being woken up, Have they arranged for you to go back to try again?

No they tried three times this afternoon. Now I have a blood test on it's own at week 16. The strange thing was that they didn't tell us anything about the baby at all.

Yep, at 12, 16 and 20 weeks. Each time I got sent away to walk about and drink something sweet for half an hour while the sonographer saw someone else. They got there in the end, but I felt like a bit of a time waster! Sorry they couldn't get the measurements, must have been really frustrating for you.

Yep at my nuchal scan baby was bouncing off the sides and waving her arms around so it took the sonographer ages to get her position right and what wasn't helping was that I kept laughing which would cause baby to bounce harder. It was so funny. Then at 20 weeks she had her head buried so far in my pelvis that the doctor couldn't get a full picture. She stubbornly refused to move even when I was told to jump about a bit Grin and then she kept turning her face away from the doctor. I think I am growing a little Diva lol
