My head hurts.

I've had a headache for pretty much a week now. I saw my GP yesterday and forgot to mention it as DD was running round her office like a loon.

My BP was 108/70 and NAD in my urine...but this headache is really worrying me, I also have the whole blurry vision thing. Paracetamol does nothing for it.

Probably stress right???

My GP wasn't woried about a week long headache I had when pregnant with DS1 as my BP was fine. It's probably the heat!

Agree with soupdragon it most probably is the heat. But..if you are that worried why dont you ring your GPs and make another appointment to put your mind at rest. Thats if you are able to get there. I was going to suggest ringing NHS direct but my friend works for them and all they say is contact your GP anyway. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sounds a bit like dehydration or heat exaustion, are you drinking plenty of fluids - i understand you should be drinking at least 3 litres of liquid per day in this weather. Also, have you been sitting out in the sun without a hat - I always get a bad head when I sit out too long. If you are really worried though it may be worth giving your midwife a ring but as your bp and urine are ok I would say it is the heat.

You can go straight to the Maternity unit if you feel that it is a good enough reason - just ring them to let them know you are on your way.

I have migraners and when I was pregnant would get the pain and no symptoms or the symptoms and no pain - thought I had had a stroke at one point - but the hospital were really kind and they said it was quite normal. (was day England played Germany and won - went into hospital before match and x2b went mental saying I had done it to wreck his day!!!! - nothing to say that my hand was numb and twice its normal size and I could not feel half of my body!!!!)

Make sure you are drinking loads - obvious I know but we all forget sometimes but do get it checked out. Can you not just ring your midwife?

I do hope you are feeling better soon. x

Hi Pie,
Are you drinking lots of water? Have you had your eyes checked lately?

If it's still bad after a week, and paracetomol have no affect, I would defnitely go back to your doctor, just to make sure, especially if you have blurry vision.

How far gone are you now?

I've had headaches since about week 20. Started getting them every morning at about 4.30.

GP could find nothing wrong, so am seeing a consultant who perscribed a very low dose of Amitrptyline (used in higher doses for depression) which is apparantly good for getting rid of chronic neurological pain.

I'm due to have a CT scan after baby bunny is born just to check...

I have been keeping quite well hydrated, and the headache started before the weather turned again.

I'm 30 weeks, Had eyes checked about 4 months ago.
Can't leave the house so am indoors under a fan (wheelchair delivery got cancelled again so am still house bound).

I've just realised that I have only met one mw my whole pregnancy as its been basically doctor based, and have also just realised that that I have a consultant appointment on Friday so I can bring it up then. Don't really have a mw to call!!!

I just feel like crap I mean more than usual!!!

Can a skin infection give you a headache? I have one too...I think my arms may fall off soon.

Thanks anyway guys. I'm off to drink more fluids incase it really is the heat.
