Pregnant with my third baby and I had my scan last week and was worried as it seemed to go on for ages (35 mins) and they seemed to be doing some wierd measurements, eventually they said there was some kind of swelling and that it appears that there is some bowel outside of the abdomen, went back next day to see specialist who agreed and now I have to wait 2 weeks to go back for another scan to see if there are any changes, I am sooooooooo worried, has anyone else experienced this?????

not personally but a friend of mine's 3rd DC was born with this condition - she had an operation to put it all back inside and she is fine now. HTH.

They picked up a possible minor condition at my 20 week scan (mild talipes - but it may have been the positioning of the very active baby's leg - we will know when he is born) and the sonographer said to me "This sort of thing and the bowels is not a big deal, if it were something else we would advise counselling, but you probably won't need it, however here's a number" etc - I remember because I thought "the bowels? Hmmm.." but I took it to mean that bowel conditions are quite common and easy to rectify post-birth.

Just thought this might make you feel better. All the best, I hope they can determine an exact diagnosis at your next scan and that it good news in terms of being minor and easy to fix.
