swollen ladybits which are 'tearing' at only 19 weeks?!

Hmm. I've had thrush 4 times now since getting pg (which is something I'm prone to anyway so not really suprised) but the past 2 times I've had it I've noticed skin in my ladybits has torn like a cut (as if the skin is being stretched too much and just tearing from not being able to stretch anymore) as the thrush is going. It's only a small cut/tear maybe a cm-ish just where my pubic hair stops in the middle of my 'front bottom' above the clit.

I noticed when rubbing in thrush cream at the weekend (have since stopped since noticing the open skin just incase) my ladybits in general were really swollen compared to normal - I know this is normal but I thought it happened later on in pg - not at 19 weeks! Not sure if this has anything to do with skin cut or not.

I'm seeing GP anyway tomorrow so will ask her but anyone else had anything else like this?

Poor you angels1 - could the small cut/tear be from where maybe you have been itching/scratching yourself due to the thrush? You might not even be aware that you have been doing it (i.e at night). I have very, very swollen 'ladybits' which have been made worse by varicose veins of the vulva. Started at around 20 weeks. Am now 40 +7 and can not wait to get back to normal!

hmmm, hadn't thought of that cluds. I haven't been scratching really at all to my knowledge (just wiggling my legs about like I need the loo when it's bad!) but I guess I could be doing it in my sleep wthout realising. It's so annoying as it's gone from discomfort of thrush to that now mixed with pain of a skin cut :( sympathise with your varicose veins - there are just so many perks to pg arn't there?!

Hi, i had this problem because I was on prophalactic atibiotics through out my pregnancy due to hydronephorisis. My thrush was really bad at time and would cause small rips exactly where you describe. My ladybits would also be very swollen because of this and towards the end of my pregnancy it was driving me mad. My doctor prescribed thrush cream and the internal pessaries which really helped, I was on them through out my pregnancy and would use them for 3 days then have a 2 day break.

Hope you get it sorted and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :)

thanks watersprite - I had no idea thrush could tear that area as have never had that before but good to hear someone else has had this (well, not pleased for you, but ykwim). Fingers crossed all goes well at the doc tomorrow (hoping to get more thrush stuff on prescription)
