I'm 39 + 1 with my 2nd pg and LO is an unstable lie. He certainly has room to move as he is regularly switching from transverse to breech but never goes head down. Does this mean there is likely to be something wrong with either the baby or me?

No- with a second (or subsequent) baby, they often don't go head down until you are in labour. Although your uterus goes down after your first pregnancy, it never quite goes to the same size as it was before you had children, therefore leaving more room for your second/third/fourth baby to move around, as it also stretches easier as it recognises the pregnancy hormones. Your baby is just a fidgetter!

I've just been geting really worried as someone told me that breech babies are more likely to have birth defects. Then the MW told me it may be something wrong with me internally that's stopping him from going head down.

I dont think there would be something internally wrong, and if the mw thought that, then really she should have sent you for some tests,as whats the point of you going into labour and then them deciding, that there is a problem.

You still have time for the baby to go down, some dont go head down until you are actually in labour.good luck.
