Please help, early pregnancy but can not get out of bed ALL day, tummy tender, sickness all through day, hugely sensitive to smells lots making me gag, cant even get up to have a wash, literally bed ridden (no joke)
I feel terrible so so terrible, i have been like this all week and now feel i cant cope with another hour, do i go to hospital? will they laugh at me or is there something they can do?

Have you seen your GP yet? Yes, the hospital can give you an injection of something temporarily to get you started then will prescribe something to take.

Dont despair. Help is out there. How far along are you?

Also if you are very dehydrated they may admit you and put you on a drip which helps loads. If you can't eat, don't worry - staying hydrated is what helps with the sickness the most.

Is someone with you?

beckie90 · 24/09/2010 15:55

hi fairyland. i sympathise with you.

ive been the same started feeling better now as im reaching 3 months.
went to the docs when i was feeling like it they wasnt much help.
when i took a bath i didnt have energy to even wash my own hair or body. every time i moved, my head felt like it was gonna burst open. couldnt eat a thing ive lost a stone in weight. just felt so drained.
speak to your doctor to see what they suggest, im sure things will start picking up soon. good luck hope you get better

FairyLand1234 · 24/09/2010 15:56

yes seen gp not much help, saw on monday but the week has been awful, i have 2 children i can not look after, i literally have to crawl along the floor to get them dressed for school, i am about 6 or 7 weeks.

I honestly can not take anymore of this, i just feel awful, sickness, nausea, headaches, stomach ache.

you sound the exact same as i was fairyland. 7 weeks was my worst 2. i have a child, and thats why the doctor said i was feeling bad beacuse i have to look after him, but i just thought what total rubbish

angels1 · 24/09/2010 16:00

really feel for you there and hope you're OK. To be honest, this sounds like me all through the first trimester. These symptoms all sound fairly common early pg symptoms (although you seem to have got them bad like me). I don't think there's much you can do or anything wrong. Ring your GP surgery and see if you can speak to doc. You can have anti-sickness pills on prescription from doc (I was put on them at 5 weeks and still at 18 weeks am on them). I'm probably telling you obvious things to try but eating little and often helps, as does resting and sleeping as much as possible.

FairyLand1234 · 24/09/2010 16:01

Everything is falling apart, my house, my kids lives, nothing helps, nothing stays down and i cant go anywhere but my bed, i need to wash myself i have been like this for 2 days now but i cant i physically cant, i keep going to throw up but nothing comes out just flem and bile stuff

Fairy it feels like the end of the world I know, That is your low blood sugar talking and once you are on the way to some kind of normality again it will regain perspective in a big way Smile

Loads of us have been there. It is hell. You have to get some help today - ring the surgery and explain they need to send someone out, or yes, turn up at A&E if nobody takes you seriously.

In the end at least one doctor will understand and will be happy to give you something. Don't give up...there ARE safe things to take in pregnancy.

Imbecileningles · 24/09/2010 16:03

By the way it's called hyperemesis when it's this bad.

Some doctors haven't heard of it I think, but most have.

They will most likely give you some medication to take and if that doesn't work, they'll admit you.

angels1 · 24/09/2010 16:05

fairyland I know it's really hard - I don't know how you're coping with 2 dc as there were days (weeks even) where I couldn't get out of bed - could barely even walk to the bathroom. I thought I couldn't get through it and I thought time would never end. I seriously spent all the time crying at how terible I felt and how no one else seemed to feel this bad. Trust me - it does get better. Take every day by day - at the end of each day you have got through it and are one day closer to feeling better soon. Do everything you can to make life easy (get DH to look after DC at weekend/other mums to take them to school etc). And I hate to admit it but antisickness drugs were the only thing that made me feel like I could cope - I still felt terrible but it was the difference from feeling like giving up and not being able to take it, to feeling terrible but at least that I could cope. I was signed off work at 4 weeks pg and am only just returning now at nearly 19 weeks and feel like a complete fraud - why do other people cope and get through this when I can't - but I genuinely think I got it really bad compared to most other people - and you sound just like me a couple of months ago. Thinking of you xxx

TotorosOcarina · 24/09/2010 16:05

sounds like you have hypereesis, go back to your gp and ask them to prescribe cyclizine, it works wonders and is very safe in pregnancy.

TotorosOcarina · 24/09/2010 16:06

*hyperemesis

angels1 · 24/09/2010 16:06

yes - I was signed off work with hypermesis even though I wasn't being sick - it was just the constant excessive nausea all day every day that bed riddled me.

FairyLand1234 · 24/09/2010 16:13

Right ok i think today is crunch time cause i cant go another hour like this, its just constant, i will try contact a doctor first see if i can get some help.

The worst and most awful thing is i am not carrying on with the pregnancy, i do have opther threads running on why and the situation i am in, please dont judge me, but having these symptoms is making everything 100 times worse Sad

beckie90 · 24/09/2010 16:16

ahh i see fairyland.
no one judges you, sometimes people have to make hard desicions. chin up. good luck

angels1 · 24/09/2010 16:17

oh fairyland I'm so sorry - must make everything so much more harder Sad . I hope you feel better soon. The initial med my GP gave to me was avomine (available over the counter although only take on advice of GP). This didn't work for me (but does for many) and I second cyclizine being good.

Ladyem · 24/09/2010 16:23

Did you manage to get through to a Dr? I had Cyclizine during my last pg as I was so ill and lost so much weight. I still felt nauseas, but I stopped gagging and actually being sick, so I could actually look after my DD. My friend had hyperemesis at the end of her pg and was really ill and they gave her some huge horse pills to take that helped! She went from being sick 20 times a day to only every other day or so.

Don't worry, no one is judging you. Hope you are OK.

Imbecileningles · 24/09/2010 16:52

It'll be over soon sweetheart. I considered termination both times actually due to the awful sickness so I understand, sort of Smile

FairyLand1234 · 24/09/2010 19:48

Have seen the gp, I now have some Promethazine tablets and have got the gp calling me in the morning to see how i am if no better they will see me again and it may be a trip to hospital, thankyou everyone
