I have had smallish (A cup) breasts my whole life, and was very much looking forward to "blossoming" (however temporarily) during pregnancy. In excited anticipation, I've been waiting to develop the boobs of my dreams... But I am 30 weeks this week- and my breasts have not grown AT ALL!! They are slightly "denser" feeling, but not bigger by any stretch of imagination.

I have a HUGE belly (and huge swollen feet, wouldn't you know..) but boobies have stayed the same.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is it fairly common? Most people I have know have gotten rather top-heavy in pregnancy. The one woman I know who was like me had to give up breast feeding as her milk never came in... so I'm a bit concerned, but maybe for nothing?

so sorry if this is more information than you wanted to hear about my breasts, I just thought this might be a good place to ask.....

Hi bj, I stayed same size all through pregnancy then turned into Pammy when the milk arrived. Now back to how I was before.

piffle · 06/09/2005 12:51

Just to let you know...
I got yours and everyon elses too
GRRRRR be glad of your nice neat boobies [grin}

Would swap you anyday!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 06/09/2005 12:56

i never expanded with jess and my milk didnt come in with ehr either.

this time, they have got a tiny bit bigger and im 34 weeks so panic not, it could still happen!

Nightynight · 06/09/2005 13:03

hi bebejam,
mine never changed during pg either. wait til the milk comes in though, you'll be KK yet.

Piggiesmum · 06/09/2005 22:26

Hi bebejam. I'm exactly the same. Was looking forward to having a decent cleavage for the first time in my life, hasn't happened. I'm 33 weeks. Also lots of people are talking about leaking nipples and mine aren't. Can't believe I'm actually wanting them to leak so I can start believing they are going to be up to the job in 7 weeks time!

eidsvold · 07/09/2005 03:51

Nothing happened with mine until my milk came in and even then did not get huge boobs - probably went up one cup size I think if that....

bebejam · 07/09/2005 13:40

Ah well, thanks everyone. It is good to know I'm not the only one!

I guess at there isn't a lot I can do about it, so I'll just have to wait and see if they are "up to the job" as piggiesmum says.

I guess I can look at it this way: maybe less sagging later on down the road?

no piffle I did!
anyway, you are welcome to them back

PrettyCandles · 07/09/2005 13:48

My breasts also didn't change size at all during pregnancy, just got a bit denser-feeling and very 'DO NOT TOUCH'. Dh was disappointed, as we were both looking forward to me getting wazzoomers and then not only did I not get them, but I wouldn't let him come within a mile of what I had anyway! My boobs did't change size until at least a month or more after the baby was born - and after I had bought loads of feeding bras, but the lovely (if expensive thing) is that they haven't gone back to my pre-babies size, I'm 2 cupsizes bigger now .

I struggled to feed my first child, but that was due to bad management, rather than lack of milk, and ended up mix-feeding him for 5.5m, but dd was fully breastfed for nearly two years. So,please don't let the lack of change in your breasts worry you.

beansontoast · 07/09/2005 13:49

lol

my boobies expanded to nothing more than a pert A cup when preg [a good A mind you..maybe a B?]

but OMG when my milk arrived!!!! i cant tell you how freaky it was when they jsut grew over night to a D cup !!

i look at the photos now and cant believe i ever took them for granted -lol.

heres to your new 'la las'

[actually it was a pretty tough time cos they hurt and ached ..so be well prepared with savoy cabbages stashed in the fridge for that first week or so]

scotlou · 07/09/2005 13:57

Just to warn you - I was hardly even an A cup before kids - and not much change during pregnancuy. Increased to around a B cup after birth - but now they're even smaller than before!
I am the only 40 year old I know who doesn't need a bra and looks ridiculous in a bikini!

LeahE · 07/09/2005 14:24

Mine got slightly bigger (1 cup size) at the start of pregnancy, then didn't grow at all after that. Not even when my milk came in. There was I carefully only buying a few bras because "you grow so quickly there's no point" when in fact I've been this sixe for well over a year now.

lovecloud · 08/09/2005 22:53

bebejam

i am also a fellow pancake size a

as soon as i fell pregnant with dd1 i waited with for my pronmised big boobies to appear and sadly they did not - i was well and truly gutted.

they grea after dd was born as i bf and i was gived the boobs i had always wanted without the tummy

i really enjoyed them and wore all the tops i never could wear before but sadly they went when i stopped bf

but i can tell you they are back to their pert size a cup and look just like before and count yourself lucky if our boobs did grow during pregnancy they would of continued to grow after uf you bf and the after finishing bf you would be left with stretchmarked dog ears so having sixe a cups is not that bad after all

lovecloud · 08/09/2005 22:53

excuse the bad typing - need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

karmamother · 08/09/2005 23:46

Its being pregnant that causes saggy boobs, not bf! Blame it on the progesterone.

Small boobs are often easier to bf with & they will produce as much milk as the baby demands, so size definately doesn't matter here!

As for your friend with small boobs not having any milk, its possible the baby wasn't latched on correctly. This is the most common reason for insufficient milk supply. With good support from your MW or bf counsellor there's no reason why you can't bf successfully. Be positive!

princesspeahead · 08/09/2005 23:48

I have always been a 34C. now pg with 4th child, went to m&s at 19 weeks for new bras for my colossal chest. was measured, fitted, and slunk out with 4 bras in a size 36B. I've GONE DOWN A CUP SIZE!

I feel CHEATED. And slightly ashamed

princesspeahead · 08/09/2005 23:49

oh yes, but no sagging at all, even after 3 prev children. still up there where they always were. so that is something I suppose

PrettyCandles · 09/09/2005 08:50

Princess, you haven't shrunk! It's just the way you were fitted, because if you go up a back size you need to go down a cup size. So 36B is the same boob size as 34C, but bigger rib size (IYSWIM). I think it may be the way M&S fitters are trained, or the way their bras are sized, because I also always come away from them one back zise up and one cup size down from when I get fitted anywhere else.

flamesparrow · 09/09/2005 09:13

Awww, mine haven't grown either, and didn't with DD - even when my milk came in they were just full rather than bigger... I have big boobies anyway though, so its more of a relief for me.

Hopefully yours'll co-operate when you have milk
