Bleeding Nipples

I'm only 10+6 with my first pregnancy and my nipples are cracked, sore and bleeding. I do get excema on the inside of my elbows and knees, but I've never experienced anything like this on my nipples.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm quite freaked out by it. What do you think I should do?

Hi,
Sorry do you mean the baby is 10 weeks old? Or your 10 weeks pregnant? If youve had the baby I can hopefully help! If not id say umm not sure ask your doc could be Excema! x

hmm sorry to hear that! have you tried any of the creams E45 etc encase it is the Excema flaring up from your hormones?

jaffacake2 · 23/09/2010 22:06

Could be thrush on the nipples,do you suffer from thrush? I would see a GP its early to be getting problems.

I have tried diprobase which I have for my excema and I have tried lansinoh as I read the instructions and you can use it whether or not BFing, but neither seems to help.

I don't want to use a steroidal excema cream like eumovate or betnovate for any of my excema before talking to a doctor, and diprobase is currently sufficient everywhere else.

I've only had vaginal thrush twice ever, but never anywhere else.

I think I should maybe call the doctor tomorrow.

Yep,see the GP as sometimes thrush can be a problem with hormonal changes especially if you have had it before. Good luck.

Hi SaorAlba,

I do hope you got better by now!

I got bleeding nipples at 7 weeks, not badly bleeding but still freaky...
Not knowing any better (i.e. re hormonal changes and all the brainy stuff), I just blamed the sports bras that I have to wear all day and night (to stop the swollen boobs bouncing too much, esp at night - so annoying)

So what helped me:

  1. aloe juice jel, applied like a cream couple of times a day, from Holland and Barrett
  2. a small 100% silk scarf - just folded a couple ot times and used to line the bra

good luck with it all!
