What on earth is it? I've had mild (as in, not worth bothering with the paracetomol most of the time) headaches for much of the day since last week, when I was on holiday in Portugal. Since then, I've had a virus (tummy bug/cold sort of thing) which is still with me, so I suppose it could be that, but I'm just not a headachey person as a rule and it's worrying me.

I had v mild Pre-E at the end of the last pregnancy, and obviously headaches are something to watch. I saw my Ind MW today because I was worried. BP is 120/78 - the diastolic rate is slightly raised from last time but 78 is perfectly respectable. She's felt the baby, listened to the heartbeat and checked BP. She is mildly concerned about the headaches but my BP doesn't indicate anything to worry about.

Could it be hormones? Stress? (It's stressing me out, apart from anything else!)

I'm 26 weeks, btw.

I'm 27 weeks.

I find that I get headachey if I'm dehydrated. I need to drink more water now that I'm pregnant and when I forget, I get mild headaches very much like yours. It usually subsides if I drink a glass or two of water.

The difficulty with keeping up the water drinking however is also keeping up loo availability Smile.

Hope this helps a little.

I'm drinking water a lot because I do feel thirsty when I'm pregnant. I never seem to be off the loo! Grin And MW did a random glucose finger prick a few weeks ago, which was fine, so I don't think I'm diabetic.

Thanks, I'm continuing to drink the water. Maybe I should spend less time on the internet and rest my eyes! Grin

I have a friend who just got headaches in pregnancy so it may not be anything to worry about if everything else is normal. Did you have a urine test too? Could also be the virus.

spilttheteaagain · 23/09/2010 20:02

I would have thought the chances are it's tiredness/needing water/hormone sensitivity. Are you due an eye test though? Could be that simple!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 23/09/2010 20:05

Yes, urine test today showed no protein. A tiny trace of glucose, which MW said was less than significant (and she's doing another finger prick glucose test at 28 weeks, anyway).

I'm going to see my optician. I had glasses that didn't make any difference before I got pregnant (it's a very slight prescription) but I know eye shape can change when you're pregnant, so I'll take myself along and get checked out. I think it's stress and eyestrain myself, but I am so haunted by the spectre of Pre-E again that anything like this, freaks me out!
