Nearly 10wks and blood in cervical mucous

Possibly TMI
Will be 10wks on Saturday, 2nd pregnancy. Booking appt not til next week.
Last night there was a streak of dark red blood in my cervical mucous. Nothing since. Have had some pain on one side when lying down, but this is very intermittent and feels like ligament pain.
Spoke to the midwife who wasn't really very much help.
Should I be worried, or is this sometimes 'normal'??

Could be breakthrough bleeding if this is about the time you'd be due a period? I had a small amount of blood in a wipe around the same time and then it went away so that's what I put it down to.

Think my normal time for a period should have been a couple of weeks ago.
Does sound similar to your though, just a bit of blood in a wipe. Hopefully I'm worrying about nothing. Was hoping the midwife would offer to see me and just check heartbeat audible with the doppler

I'm not sure they can hear with a doppler at this stage anyway mishkamoo. From reading various threads some bleeding does seem normal. (I have my 12 week scan tomorrow so can't yet tell you whether everything is ok I'm afraid) but from asking on here at the time there are lots of stories of people bleeding early and going on to be fine.

Are you still getting the pain? If so it might be worth going to EPU just to put your mind at rest?

Thanks for all your messages everyone.
No more bleeding and no pain other than the usual tweaks and twinges.
Could hear HB at 10wks in my 1st preg so guess I was just hoping the same would be true this time!

Well hopefully you would be able to then, sorry my mistake I didn't think you could till about 16 weeks (don't know where I got that from!!)

For what it's worth I had my 12 week scan today and all fine so obviously my bit of bleeding didn't make any difference.

Hope that helps :)
