Waxing While Pregnant

I went for a full leg wax yesterday as it's getting a bit cumbersome to shave in the shower...

It was sickeningly painful!!!

Has anyone else found that waxing is a million times more painful when pregnant??

I think the poor lady doing it thought I was a mentalist, but it was so bad that I was considering leaving halfway through!!! :)

Totally. I still have my bikini waxes and I get the "Hollywood" or a brazilian so everything basically off and it hurts like buggery.

The last time I had to get her to finish before she had completely finished because I just didn't care. I figure it's good practice for labour - build up my pain threshold!

Mine was less painful on my legs. I'm hunting for a new place to get a bikini line/legs before I go in hospital and everywhere is upstairs and I can't get there :(

I had my bikini line lasered last year - can't recommend it enough!! Will go for a top up after the birth - best thing ever!!

When I magically win the lottery I will pay to get my legs done too...

In the meantime I figure I have two more leg waxes before D-Day (20th Dec)

Has anyone ever tried a numbing cream before a wax? It's looking tempting at the mo...

Did home bikini wax a couple of weeks ago and can't tell if it hurts more or if am just total wuss. Always have to keep stiff upper lip in front of actual beautician as don't want to wail in agony in front of total stranger, which I think helps. At home, free to wail as much as I like, so probably feels like it hurt more even if it didn't. Also, am probably not nearly as good at it as professional.

On a side note, is anyone else having massive hair growth on tummy? Had to wax that too. I always have a little hair there, but this was outrageous - midwife commented, which shamed me into waxing.

Yes does hurt more...and did a fab job of bringing my labour on with DC2 when I was 37 weeks Smile

You are so brave to wax your own bikini line! I think I would wimp out of pulling the wax off!!!

And I think hairy tum is normal in pregnancy - the things we have to bear!!
