Hi!

Does anyone have any recommendations for pregnancy yoga classes/courses, either in Central or South West London?

Thanks!

Whyoga.co.uk in Balham (Monday 7pm) or Earlsfield (Wednesday 7pm). The teacher Vicky has years of experience and is also a doula. Can't recommend her classes highly enough.

ps. New course starts next week but drop-in also available.

What part of SW London?

Kathleen Beegan does an excellent classin Streatham. www.yogabirthlondonsw.com/3.html

Boo81 · 22/09/2010 16:22

I'm between Putney and Wimbledon. Streatham is a bit out of the way but Earlsfied would suit me. Will check out that link. Thanks for your replies!

How about the Life Center in Notting Hill or the Light Center in Belgravia? I haven't tried the pregnancy yoga there myself b/c I am not 14 weeks yet, but I have been doing normal yoga there and know they offer such classes. On balance, the notting hill studio is nicer. If you try classes there, please can you drop me a line whether you like them and what level they are suited for... I heard that some of these classes could be a total waste of time for a regular yoga practicioner. Many thanks in advance.

I am in Wimbledon, I do a class in central Wimbledon (right by the train station) on a Thursday evening from 6.30 (www.yogaclasseswithjulie.co.uk/) - if you come to this, tell her Abi recommended you, and then she gives me a one-off discount that night! :o,

and on Saturday morning I do another class also in Wimbledon, though from mid-October it is moving to the Vitality Centre in Southfields (www.vitality-centre.com/) with a lovely lady called Annabel.

Annabel is doing a couples Yoga/Hypnobirth/breathing class this Friday which my DH and I are going to (as long as I haven't gone into labour by then - I am 38+2 today!), so if you want details, see here: www.annabel-yogabirth.com. There's also one on 22nd October.

pinkgrasshopper · 23/09/2010 08:23

AbFabT, if you do make it to Annabel's class on Friday, please could you let us all know how it went? I would love to hear more having had a look at her website. Wishing you the best of luck, should you go you into labour first! I may well join the Saturday class anyway, as mine on Monday is fabulous but another session wouldn't hurt, and I'm pretty porr at home practice!

pinkgrasshopper · 23/09/2010 08:24

porr=poor. It's early Wink

Will do, pinkgrasshoper. DH and I already did her Birth Preparation Workshop a few weeks ago, and it was brilliant. Really empowering, and a lovely experience for my husband and me - we were taught some good positions for birth, and he was shown how to offer me useful massage. Would recommend highly. I did this instead of the NCT classes.
Hoping we don't go into labour before tomorrow - really want to do the class! Am reading a hypnobirthing book, but I think a class would be beneficial.

hoPPer! :)

Triyoga in Soho/Central London:

www.triyoga.co.uk/

mariataylor · 05/10/2012 12:21

In case anyone else is still looking for classes in the Putney Area I recommend Prue Blamey - www.prueblameyyoga.com - this is a small group that gets together on thursday afternoons after work, so is really convenient if you are working... I also liked Lolly Stirk in triyoga in Chelsea, her classes are amazing but they are on wednesdays at mid day so depending if you have time during the day...

BlueChampagne · 05/10/2012 12:40

If you're still looking, try the Birthlight website.

Francescamary · 03/12/2012 12:47

Hi, just reading through this thread - does anyone have any further pregnancy yoga recommendations for central London - either Covent Garden, Soho or City? Triyoga times aren't great for me as I need something I can get to after work.

Failing that, has anyone tried a private yoga class then done it at home?

Thanks...

Quodlibet · 03/12/2012 13:00

For East London, Yoga on the Lane in Shacklewell lane is fantastic. Naomi Reynolds who runs the studio also teaches at Triyoga ANSI think does private classes on occasion, she's well worth seeking out.

CityDweller · 03/12/2012 21:46

Blue Cow yoga in Moorgate was recommended to me, but I've not tried it yet.
