Does anyone know the going rate for a doula in London?

Or even a trainee doula, or how you go about finding a trainee doula? I was led to believe by the doulas' websites that a doula would charge about £400, but I am finding the quotes are double that for experienced Central London doulas. My consultant says it would be advisable for me to have one because of various medical issues, but I'm not due till Feb so maybe there's time to find one I can actually afford...

Trainees are 190, that's what I've gone for. When I looked for a fully qualified one they were nearer 800. Definitely start looking early if you want a trainee, I left it til 5 months ish and was almost too late!

Doula UK says trainees can't charge more tha £190. Trainee postnatals are no more than 10 per hour.

They also have a Find a doula service
