Any link between colostrum and labour starting?

Hi all,

I've started leaking quite a bit of colustrum. I'm 34 weeks. Could this mean the baby may come early, or is there no link? I wondered if maybe my body might be nearly ready or something.

When did everyone else get colostrum and when did you go into labour?

I'm 34 weeks too and getting some colostrum. I hope there is no link to labour.... I'm not certain but I think I've read on here some mums to be experiencing this quite a bit earlier on. I'm so uncomfortable and can't wait to have the baby just so I can sit/stand/lie comfortably but I'd like bubs to stay put for a few weeks yet!

Me too! Nothing is ready and hope this doesn't mean I need to start packing!

I've been leaking since about 20 weeks. I'm now 39+6 and still pregnant.

So you probably don't need to panic pack your bag just yet!

I had some colostrum from about 26 weeks with DS2 and he came on his EDD, so no there is no link. Lots of women just get colostrum really early.

I've been waking up with dried colostrum smeared down my arm...26 weeks pregnant, no sign of labour.

I asked my midwife this - there is no link.

I had it last time from about 30 weeks and DD was induced on her due day, oddly have had none this time and now 37+2 - not complaining though!

i've had leaky boobs since 14 weeks...seems to be worse after a bath for some reason...

I had leaking colostrum from about 20wks and DD didn't arrive until 40+4... Floppy21 I know your pain - I woke up with crusty arms for 20wks!

I started leaking at 18-20 week with all 3 of mine. All went to their due date or a few days short.

My mate was leaking at about 20weeks ish and she wet 2 weeks over due.

Bunnyjo First time I couldn't work out what it was! Thought DH had been a bit 'ahem' cheeky over my arm!!
