tiny red & pink freckles

Hello All
I'm just coming up to 8 weeks and during the week developed lots and lots of very tiny red and pink freckles all over my pelvis, bottom and thighs. They aren't itchy or raised and I feel totally fine. The only other time I've had anything similar is after being sick, tiny red flecks appear on my eyelids but then fade away. These ones haven't faded. So far this is the only pregnancy symptom I've not managed to find any info about online. (They don't look like angiomas). NHS Direct had no idea what they could be. Was wondering if these 'freckles' might simply be down to increased blood flow in that area of my body? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Got first app with Dr on Monday so will ask her too. Thankyou.

I have a blotchy area on my upper chest. People keep pointing it out as a rash, but it doesn't hurt or itch and it isn't raised at all. I asked my midwife about it; she mentioned the increased bloodflow. She wasn't concerned (and nor am I) but suggested that I make an appointment with my GP just to ask about it. I haven't done, but will mention it the next time I need to see her.

Will be interested to see what your GP says (or what anyone else on MN can tell you) about your freckles!

Showed my doctor yesterday, she couldn't tell me what it was but wasn't overly concerned. She seemed to put it down to the fact that I was wearing tights, even though I pointed out that I don't wear them 24/7 and the rash is still there. Basically she just said that your skin can change alot during pregnancy and make sure I moisturise it. She said that if it gets worse I should go back to her. So I guess, I'll just carry on as normal and put it down as one of those weird things that happen when your pregnant.

Sounds like Campbell-de-Morgan spots to me. Nothing to worry about. Smile

Thanks for the update! There really are loads of weird things that happen to your body in pregnancy (even more the second time around, it seems!). I've got quite a few little skin tags; I had one last time that just fell off a few weeks after the birth. The one on my bump freaks me out more than any of the others, just because I have to encounter it every morning when I'm moisturising.

And your post reassures me that I shouldn't bother making a special appointment to see my GP about my non-rash thing. Thanks!

Oooh how interesting - I am 17 weeks pg and noticed tiny red freckles on my upper thighs. They failed the glass test so I immediately assumed it was meningitis!! Then my rational mind told me I had no other symptoms so that was unlikely! I put it down to pregnancy changes, and they go with my thread veins and varicose veins Grin

If you're really lucky you'll get a varicose vein in the fanjo, always a delight when PG Smile
