Bit of an impossible/ silly question really but I suppose Im just wondering if anyone else had any experience of this.

Im 11 days past ovulation today.

Literally 2 days after ovulation I knew I was pregnant - I was (and still am) having definate stretching type pains/ aches in lower stomach. Had a slight brown discharge (implantation maybe?).

At 8 dpo I had a very strong metallic taste in mouth and had to stop my car and (dry retch morning sickness type) vomit (sorry way tmi) on the side of the road. I am unbelievably bloated all week - to such a level that my normally comfortable jeans are digging in to my stomach tight.

I felt pregnant enough last night (10 days after dtd!!) to pass on a glass of wine Shock.

Did a test today and received a definate BFP!! Grin........ but just wondering - I have two children and have had 1 miscarraige - I have never experienced this so early in pregnancy before - has anyone else?

Thanks for reading Smile

I was more aware of my symptoms more with each preg...

But it was with the quads that I had such early symptoms as you describe

PML at milknosugarplease

resistanceisfutile and VLKN "that would never happen to me" Grin (actually, twins never occured to me, it couldnt be that, could it?Hmm)

Was just coming on to add that vomiting was actually 9dpo not 8 and dates are definately not wrong as you could time my periods, always have an exact 28 day cycle and am fairly positive I even know the date we conceived.

Congratulations!
I felt pregnancy symptoms 9 days after we dtd. First baby, not having twins and not aware that dates are wrong. Maybe it sometimes just happens?

ArghMyEyesMyEyes · 18/09/2010 22:14

I'm sure I read somewhere that the likelihood of having twins rises with each subsequent pregnancy. You say you have three children already? Wink

BarbieLovesKen · 21/09/2010 10:12

cakemuncher thanks for that, maybe it is just one of these things!! after MC I tend to just panic unneccessarily over silly things so forgive the madness!!! Wink

PML Arghmyeyesmyeyes great! Hmm feel sooo much better now!! thanks a million!! Grin Grin. (you crowd of bitches!! Grin)

Oh I still feel rotton. Honestly, I know I need to shut up about it because its going to be a long 9 months if I keep moaning this early on and I dont mind at all but Im just surprised I suppose. I am so exhausted that I went to bed at 8.30 Sunday night and slept right through until 8am. In bed by 10 last night. Not like me as Ive a generally busy/ hectic life and Im a 12 - 1am bed person usually.

Ah, Im just obsessing uneccessarily, are'nt I? Ill take it as a good sign as with MC I had literally no symptoms at all, felt waaay to good ifykwim.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks a million all!

congratulations!!

don't forget too that pregnancies become harder when you have other children to care for...so maybe that would account for the tiredness.... but wow! does sound early...ooohhh...what if it IS twins!!! how exciting!!

SquallyRose · 21/09/2010 10:40

I had this with my first, ovulated, caught and just knew 3 days later, it was a further 2 weeks before anything showed on a pregnacy test but I just knew, sore breasts, reacting to smells, going off certain foods etc, everyone told me it was twins too but I only had one so don't get worried, I think sometimes your body ust tunes in with itself, I'm pregnant again and this one was a total shock lol

DancingThroughLife · 21/09/2010 10:48

Looking back I had all sorts of symptoms within a week of conceiving DD. I didn't do a test until about 6 weeks later, at which point I had a proper light bulb moment.

We were on holiday at the time and I completely went off all the lovely Greek food - spent the last 3 days just wanting chips and full fat coke Confused

Congratulations Grin

Oh thank you so much - appreciate all the other experiences shared.

Think twins is a lovely romantic thing to envisage and I see soooo many people wishing for twins (????) but if Im honest, I would never choose twins - the two newborns, space, expense, I'd worry about giving them enough attention and time, worry about ds as he will only be 16 months when this one comes along etc.. two would be hectic!. Sleep deprivation plus a twin pregnancy when Im trying to work and study for degree wouldnt be the best scenario.

That said, what your given, your given. I think we'd cope and we'd love any number of children in our home so hey ho! what will be, will be. We'd be fine and we'd be happy regardless.

Honestly hadnt occured to me before here though. Can never "see myself" with twins if you know what I mean. Am very sick though but hearing about some on here with singleton pregnancies has eased my mind.

Ahh I was similar to you. Sickness started around 8dpo. By 9 weeks I was vomiting 30 times or more a day and I am now 19 weeks with just the ONE baby and still being sick! I have two boys and everyone keeps saying it must be a girl, apparently girls make you sicker. Find out a week tomorrow!

Congrats!

MamaMojito · 21/09/2010 14:39

I was the same as well, knew I was pregnant within days of dtd, knew pretty early i.e a good 10 days before testing with my other 2 pregnancies too. I seem to just "know" iykwim?

Am now 28 weeks...with twins! Grin

angels1 · 21/09/2010 15:50

congrats. First time I had symptoms 9 days before AF (feeling badly sick/dizzy/tired etc), sadly had mc, but this time had symptoms 7 days before AF (similar to before). Am now 18 weeks and the fog is only just starting to lift! I think some people are just more sensitive to this and some pregnancies seem to give more symtptoms than others. Great news though, and doc kept telling me as my symptoms were so pronounced I might have twins, but didn't!

beckie90 · 21/09/2010 18:10

i got symptoms as soon as i concieved, well i must have as i had been getting them for over 2 weeks before i tested and i did a test 4 days before edd and got a posative. at moment im only 10 weeks got my scan in 2 weeks, so will find out whats happening.
think theres only 1 in there though. as i did get symptoms earlyish with my 1st
