41 weeks + 3 and needing moral support...

Hi girls,
I'm 10 days overdue and am beginning to struggle to stay chipper about it. I've had a great pregnancy with no complications so I've been very lucky on that front but I'm just not showing any signs of going in to labour spontaneously. I have tried everything to get the baby to get a move on but still nothing, not even a show. I'm booked in to be induced on Tuesday night but that still seems like an age away. I'm incredibly uncomfortable and absolutely exhausted and have started to think the baby's never going to come! The sonographer told me yesterday the baby looks like it's going to weigh about 9lb too which is making me nervous!
Anyone else in the same boat?

I think it's natures' way of making you positively look forward to labour and feel quite pleased when it starts!
Good luck and I hope things get going soon- it is sooo uncomfortable, but take heart that it can't be long now .

dhal sets me off, I thinks its all the lentils giving me wind so it might have some not so pleasant side effects

Thanks so much for that LitR - really helpful. I haven't done nipple stimulation as I read you'd have to do it for an hour, three times a day for it to have any effect! Thought waddling around tweaking my nips all day might just tip me over the edge, but if it worked for you, I'll give it a try! How long did you do it for? I'm pretty sure my dates are spot on and they correlate with my scan dates - just obviously have a very chilled out baby!

I went two weeks over with dc1, I had three sweeps where cervix was described as 'very unfavourable', absolutely no braxton hicks, aches, show, nothing. Like you thought baby was never going to come. Was booked in for an induction on the weds morning, went to bed Tues night - still nothing - then woke with contractions at 1am. Baby born 24 hours later with no intervention (and he weighed almost 10lbs!). The wait is awful but you still have time for it to happen naturally.

Oh here is a bucketfull of moral support from me. . I have no advice but lots of sympathy.

I was induced at 40+13 and seriously every day felt like a month. I thought I was actualy starting to get PND before I even had the baby!

However, dd did eventually come out, and no I was not depressed . You seem to forget about those awful last few days when the bundle is in your arms!

It is true what clareanna says about making you look forward to the birth - by the end I didn't care how she came out, just that she did come out

Oh the waiting game is cruel. Many sympathies. Due on Tuesday with no.2.

With no.1 I think it was the thai curry that set me off, though I did pay for it when I went into labour

Wish I had some advice. I'm sure you've tried everything. Sometimes it is just good to feel like you are trying.

Oh I feel your pain!! I'm also 41+10, and having to do a one hour round trip to the hospital every day to have my blood pressure checked over two hours because it's a bit on the high side, so every morning I have to get all ready just in case they decide to admit me. I'm quite sure this baby's never coming! Good luck, maybe today's the day! x

I mean 40+10 or 41+3, doh!
