Hi,

I'm due in mid January so just over 5 months pregnant now but I look huge! This is my 2nd pregnancy, had the same thing last time too, people thought I was ready to give birth when I was just 7 months pregnant! Baby wasn't too big though, just under 7lbs.

I'm quite petite, 5ft2 and pre-pregnancy I weighed 7st or just under. I put on 3st last time but lost it all 3months after birth (must have been the breastfeeding every 2 hours for 6 months!).

Now so far I've already put on 2 stones (finally weighed myself for the first time yesterday in 5months), this seems like quite a lot, even last time I don't think I'd put on this much at this stage (although, I cant actually remember that well).

I know that when you're small you put on more but is this much normal? I have to admit though, I have been eating a fair amount (I've just had a (Greggs) cheese and pasty and that was just a pre-lunch snack).

Anyone else in a similar position? I have a feeling I'll be putting on more than 3st this time and probably wont loose it as easily as I did first time round.

I'm taller than you but I was quite thin before I got pregnant (size 10, BMI just under 19) and I had gained 2.5 stones by 30 wks this pregnancy. I'm now 38+ wks and I know I have continued to pile it on but I haven't weighed myself, I just don't see the point in making myself miserable. I'm now just starting to pop out of my size 12 maternity wear Blush. I reckon I will have gained well over 3 stone by the end. The fact that you gained a lot last pregnancy but lost it all fairly fast sounds very encouraging to me, hopefully the same will happen for you this time even if you do gain a bit more. Hope I can do the same... I'm not sure what 'normal' is but there are threads on here practically every week by pregnant women worrying about gaining over/under the recommended amount, so I reckon the guidelines have to be taken with a pinch of salt. I'm sooooo glad my midwife doesn't bother weighing me...
