Membrane Sweep and GBS

What is the mumsnetters opinions on sweeps being performed when GBS positive. I tested positive at 26 weeks but have been offered a sweep at 39 weeks due to DC measuring large.
I was initially happy to go through with this until I did some research on foetal infection after the sweep and found this on the GBSS WEBSITE
"However, there remains a theoretical risk that a membrane sweep might occasionally introduce GBS into the uterus, and so our medical advisory panel advises caution in using a membrane sweep for women known to carry GBS when there are other acceptable alternatives (for example, induction of labour with prostaglandin gel introduced into the vagina)." thanks for your opinions

As someone who experienced the devastating consequences of infection to my baby (i was induced), never in a million years would i allow myself to have a sweep as it could allow any infection further into the birth canal. i feel really angry that i wasn't swabbed before induction. had a i known i had an infection i would have refused induction. are they offering you antibiotics?

yes I have been told I will have antis as soon as waters break but yesterday my doc never even mentioned the GBS complications and it was not discussed.
