I just asked my doc and he said it was fine to stop at 12 weeks. It won't do you any harm if you continue though.

12 wks I thought

My midwife said to continue with my prenatals (containing folic acid) after 12 weeks. She said that it was vital to have it in the 1st 12 weeks, but was fine to keep taking it afterwards too. I hope that's the right advice...?

I took the one with the multivitamin in and I took it all the way through. I stopped when I stopped breastfeeding at 3 weeks.

As Laska says, my midwife has advised me to continue taking supplements containing folic acid throughout.

There was a study that linked taking folic acid after 12 weeks to asthma.
