I went today to H&B to buy vitD as the ones my GP prescribed were huge chewable ones I could not take.

I got mixed up ad bought 25mg tabs,

can I take half a tablet a day?

I got prescribed the chewable ones. Oh my, they are disgusting!

I'm going to ask if she can prescribe me non-chewable ones. My mum gets a prescription for them, so I know they're out there!

You mean mcg right?

I read in Canada it is standard to take 2000IU in pregnancy, other studies suggest more 4,00-10,00 are both safe and have advantages, worth reading about perhaps... stuff here...

I chose not to go too much above rec's here and to take 600 IU or 15 MCG plus that in my pre-natal (300 IU?) so around that of the supplement you have.

You could take one every other day perhaps?

I am taking 15 mcg + 1000mg calcium. my obst suggested i take 2 of the calcichews but i wasn't happy about the additional ingredients (aspartame mainly).

I taking am solgar ones which contain calcium citrate (instead of carbonate), which is absorbed better by the body. also they can be swallowed.
