Flying at 28 weeks

Has anyone flown at 28 weeks? I'd appreciate any advice you can give me, am completely in two minds about it. I live in Barcelona and it's the last chance I'll have to see my family in the UK before the baby's born, but I don't know if it's taking a stupid risk which I just don't need to take. It would involve a Barcelona to London flight on the Saturday, with the return flight 3 days later.

Obviously I'll be getting my doctor's advice as well but it would be good to hear some first-hand experiences.

I flew to Turkey at the start of July for a weeks holiday and i was about 27 weeks and i was fine.
Just made sure that i dank plenty water to keep hydrated and kept getting up to stretch and take little walks up and down the aisle.

I flew to Portugal from the UK when I was 28 weeks. I needed a dr's certificate (and was asked for it as I looked about 38 weeks! ), but it was fine.

I will be flying at 31 weeks soon, as long as your Doctor or midwife gives you the ok, you will be good to go...

Is your airline ok with you flying at 28 weeks?

I flew from London to Athens when I was about 28-30 weeks pregnant with DS, flight about 3-4 hours. Not the most comfortable, but was fine as not too long. Think I took a doctor's letter with me saying I'm fit to fly, but airline never asked for it (I had a small bump).

I just flew from the UK to Paris and then to Montenegro at 32 weeks. No problems at all. I took a midwife certificate of fitness to fly but didn't need it. I was even considering flying from the UK to Australia at 34 weeks but decided against it.

Most airlines allow you to fly up to 36 weeks so I took this as my guidance.
