big bump early on

i am only 12 weeks pregnant and already look about 4 months...is it normal?? i have already have a child...she is 3 and i didnt start showing till about 20 weeks with her but this time i am showing so so fast i dont know if it normal

hi yep,id say completly normal (currently 30wks with 3rd and have been big since early days). all preg are diff.Any worries just mention to midwife wen u c her.

its just cause people keep saying to me you are a bit big for 12 weeks and keep asking if i am having twins...its making me feel fat!

I'm exactly the same, I am 11wks, only this is pg4 for me! When i commented to the mw how big i was looking with dc3 she said 'well you have had a baby before so therefore your muscles are LAX!!' Great!!

Dont be too worried by it, you will probably find that you do your 'growing' now and will slow down in the middle part :)

They can tell very early on. When do you have your scan?

Honestly though, I was exactly the same with dc's 2 &3, convinced that just because i was showing so much that it must be twins. I think unless you are a gym bod and work on your stomach muscles then you are more likely to show because your muscles have been stretched so much that they wont go straight back.. I now wish that had hauled my arse into the gym and worked on it!!

I'm only a size 10 myself so fairly small framed.

have my scan on monday...but i have heard that sometimes they cant tell if its twins until your 2nd scan....i would freak out if it was twins lol

A girl at work had her 12wk scan this week and you can clearly see that it is twins :)

I feel the same. I have a DD who is three and my tummy has popped out a lot earlier this time! I'm hoping that the growth will level out as my pregnancy progresses so that even though I feel big now, in a couple of months I'll feel the "normal" size and not be too huge (does that make sense?). I'm almost 17 weeks.

AprilMeadow MW said similar to me - I was quite offended on behalf of my tummy muscles!

i am on pg #3 and 16 weeks and apparently according to a "friend" i look the same size bump wise as my other (nice) friend and shes 6.5 months!!

Claire - don't worry about the comments. I've been getting "Look at the size of you!!!" since about 13 weeks. I'm now 33 weeks and the rate of growth has slowed down so that I'm around a similar size to other women at my stage of being pg.

I also got "you must be having twins" (I'm not), and "you must have got your dates wrong" (I haven't).

Same here, im 12 weeks and look 16. Theres quite a few threads about this topic all saying its normal. We are just preparing extra room for our little ones ;-)
