Bedridden with stretching pain?

Hi There

I'm really worried as yesterday afternoon within about 1 hour I went from feeling fine to crying with pain, just like period pain but so much stronger. I went to the doctors and they referred me to the hospital for tests, they examined me and said everything seemed fine and that it was probably just stretching pain. They did a scan and the feotus was very low in my womb.

I spent all last night worrying that I was miscarrying. I am 9 + 4 weeks.

Anyone had anything similar?

thanks in advance.

Sounds like it must have been very scary - I had all sorts of pains at the start (they were like bad period pains) but it all cleared up by 12/13 weeks. It is scary though.

If it helps, my friend had what felt like bad period pains in her pregnancy and that turned out just fine!!

How are you feeling now?

I guess there is not much you can do right now except take it easy and try to relax - and remember, if they did the scan yesterday and said it was fine then it sounds like everything is ok. I know that doesn't really help when you feel scared.

Anyway, just to say, you're not alone with weird pains in early pregnancy!! Hope you feel better soon.

I have had weird pains throughout this pregnancy so it does sound like stretching pain. Just keep resting and fingers crossed it will be ok.

Hope they stop soon

I had some really nasty pains at the beginning of my pregnancy from about 8 to 12 weeks or so. My stomach felt really heavy and ached from the inside out - and cramps like period pain. I was really worried I was going to miscarry... but she is still going strong and I am 30 weeks now.

I know it is hard but unless you are bleeding, it is just likely to be everything stretching

Hope it eases soon

I had to take a week off work when I was 17 weeks due to stretching pain - I'm not a wimpy person when it comes to pain, but it really hurt. :(

Healthy little boy now.

Thanks peeps for your reassurances. I do feel a lot better today (after taking some paracetamol).

I did start to worry thinking that I was losing my symptoms too, but am now starving again and feeling sick too which has been par for the course for the past 4 weeks or so.

Thanks again xx Smile
