blood in my urine

hi i had my booking appointment today and my mw dipped my wee and said i had blood in it. have to do a second sample tomorrow morning to be sent off to the lab. has anybody had this before? and what was it coursed by?

Had it with a bladder infection once. Any pain/ frequency of passing urine?

I find cranberry juice helps. If you start to feel poorly or have a temp, call your doctor.

They found some blood in mine a few weeks ago and sent it away for tests but it came back stating there was nothing to worry about. sometimes it can be a urinary tract infection, which is very common at this stage of pregnancy. you might need to take antibiotics but don't worry, it most likely will be alright :) and I second what hairymelons says!

I had it with a urinary tract infection. Keep drinking lots of cranberry juice. However, if your temperature rises or you experience sharp pains (this happened to me very quickly -- got a fever of 38.5 degrees within and hour), then contact your doctor or go to the emergency room. You will need antibiotics. Penicillin based antibiotics (such as, Amoxil and its variety under different brand names, Amoclav, etc) are save in pregnancy. The infection usually clears quite quickly with antibiotics... Hope you feel better soon.
