Milk stained sleepsuits/vests - throw or use?

I have washed all of dd's old sleepsuits vests but some have milk stains which I can't get out.

Would you reuse them for baby or buy new?

Budget is very tight, dh says to reuse, I'm torn and would appreciate opinions!

Why wouldn't you re use?

The baby won't care about milk stains, and the vest will be under a babygro. I would hang onto them and let the baby wear them at bed time.

Feel free not to listen to me though. - I'm a tightarse :o

get them out in the sun? we had a few unmentionabley stained clothes that bleached out very well on the washing line.

Definitely reuse. Baby won't know the difference and they grow so quickly, there's no point in buing new stuff if you've already got some. Especially if the budget's tight.

Babies don't care. If they have been washed 2 million times already they will be all soft and snuggly and any nasties that may have been used in the production of the cotton/material will have been washed out.

So, there, you positively MUST use them again .

Or you could try dying them?? I am not sure on that one myself....

Reuse it is!

Undiluted lemon juice will get the milk stains out of the clothes, leave it to soak in the sunlight for a few hours and then wash as normal. - As everyone else has said though, your baby wont mind hand me downs so save your money!

Do I rub the lemon juice onto the stain lola?

What about buying some little iron on / sew on applique motifs to cover the spots?!

Bicarb is very good for getting out milk stains too, but sunlight's best! (assuming we see the sun between now and April, that is!)

Put the lemon juice on to the stain and let it soak in, for some reason putting in sunlight helps to remove it so leave it out in sunlight while is dries ... then wash as usual!
