buggerbuggeration · 12/09/2010 20:12

OH is away and will be for a week....am v aprehensive...really not expected and am just clinging on in my head that this could be not happening...........but Im usually regular as clockwork and this early af took me by surprise and now by my reckoning im about 10 days late!!!

If your AF in aug was early and very light and short, could well have been an implantation bleed and now being 10 days late... Sounds like you could be! Protection sometimes fails!

buggerbuggeration · 12/09/2010 20:21

I would say it was within 2 days of sex [worried look]

excitedmummy2be · 12/09/2010 20:28

Would it be a happy accident or would you be upset?

sam26oscar · 12/09/2010 20:29

this happened to my friend ... .she had v light af on 1st march then nothing til april 15th tested positive and is now 25 weeks gone !! so yes it can happen Grin

buggerbuggeration · 12/09/2010 20:49

excitedmummy...I would be gutted initially if i was, being completely honest, but I know that these things happen for a reason, and you should be grateful for these things but the timing is completely wrong...my kids are now very independent 12 and 9 and I was just starting to get back to my own routine...I have a great job (no reason why that would change) but its so hard juggling all these things. was starting to see the wood for the trees..

Of course i could still be worryin about nothing...DP would accept whatever happens, he is that sort of guy, what ever makes me happy makes him happy....I did go through a MC about 4 years ago which was very stressful Sad

I would think on the whole you're not (sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear)

Firstly and mainly because you had protected sex. I know it fails, but I presume you would have an inkling if it had failed.

Secondly because you did have a period (at presumably the right time??) although only light.

Thirdly because you don't mention any other symptoms.

Having said that, you've not had a period since Confused...

So, I have come up with three reasons why not pg and one reason why pg, so my stats are likelyhood 75% not pg, 25% pg Grin

Do a test and let us know!

buggerbuggeration · 12/09/2010 21:35

Missy...I am liking those odds...and the rational approach

however....both my first two were concieved whilst on a particlar brand of pill!!

quite rightly I dont have any symptoms but i also dont have any for AF either

no my period came early (in my op it explains that :S...and really took me by surprise............fark have I just increased the odds again!!!

If you don't do it, you will just be torchering yourself over it. At least if you test and it is negative, which is likely seeing as you used protection, you can relax a bit more. If it is positive, you can start dealing with it and get used to it. Not knowing isn't going to help you.

Are you on the same brand of pill that you conceived your first 2?

Missyissy · 12/09/2010 22:15

Hmm! Smile

OK, well... I still keep the first re protected sex, because even given your past pg's, it was still protected (to the best of your knowledge? Or do you think it could have failed?)

Second, OK period was early... it was light... but I doubt very much an implantation bleed because generally at most that would be a tiny bit of spotting. I know there are those who say they had something like a period amount, but these are pretty rare (as is any implantation bleed, it's not as common as thought AFAIK!)

Third, no pg symptoms - did you have any when you were pg before? All pg's are different, sure, but would be odd not to have any if you got loads for the first two pg's.

Don't hate me for asking this but... how old are you... sorry... got to consider that as you get older, periods get more erratic?
