i'm 7-8ish weeks pg and the morning sickness has kicked in with a vengeance!
for the last 3 days i've been in my pjs doing nothing other than watching tv, mumsnet-ing and throwing up. lovely dh has taken ds out all day as i do not have the energy for a toddler!
wednesday - sick x2
thursday - sick x3
friday - sick x 4
saturday - sick x6
sunday - sick x3 so far...

i've called in sick for school tomorrow BUT have an important meeting on tuesday which i do want to be there for. it's my first opportunity to show i can do more than just my class teacher role.
i've also explained to the head why i'm off as our budget is tight but i'm pretty sure pg is covered by their sickness insurance so thought i'd try and be helpful etc.

so... do you think i'll be able to get myself into school on tuesday?

i'm planning on going to the doctor tomorrow and asking them how much sickness is ok and how much is worrying and whether or not they'd recommend tablets.

i was very ill with ds but i've blocked it from my memory. none of my tricks from that pg are working at the moment. :( i do remember the gp being very reluctant to prescribe anything then as they couldn't be sure it was safe for the baby.

any advice/ thoughts very welcome!

if i were you i would really wait and see how you feeel on the morning if thats possible. What time does your m/s kick off and what time is your meeting?? you poor thing, i had to work longer hours during summer hols as a nanny and had terrible nausea, 24/7, and had to entertain kids whilst feeling crap, i know how debilatating it is Sad luckily Hmm i was not actually sick, but it made for some dicey moments!!! there are a few threads on mn about anti-sickness tablets sorry no idea how to link you to it though!!

the meeting is all day! so at least i'm not teaching kids.
my MS lasts all day, i wake up feeling sick in the night, wake up sicky in the morning, carries on ALL DAY with sudden trips to the bathroom to be sick or retch. :(

i might see if i can find those threads

so sorry, its bloody awful isn't it. I wasn't this bad with DS1 and even now 15+3 still have off times. In fact DS eats more than i do and he only eats an ikea plateful!!!

I'm a teacher too mrsflux and I've been signed off since 4 weeks pg with ms/associated pg problems (now 17 weeks) (but I did have summer hols in middle). It sucks, the whole thing, and I feel for you. My GP prescribed me med at 5 weeks and had to chnge it at 6 weeks as it didn't work. I'm still on the meds (cyclizine). Any med is not a miracle cure be warned - I think my med stopped me from being sick but I felt terrible - in 10 weeks I managed to get out of the house about 8 times (and that was only for doc/hospital appointments). it (fingers crossed) is getting better, and I think my worst week was week 8/9 and then a few days around week 12.

See how you feel but don't expect to necessarily be up to it.

And if you get anti-sickness drugs be prepared they knock you out for six. Took me a while to get used to the side effects - very very drowsy - I wouldn't have been able to drive at first whilst taking them.

I really hope you feel better though.

week 36 and still on cyclizine to stop the sickness, however they are working and the drowsiness only lasted a couple of days.
Just have to see how you feel on Tues morning, I have been signed off most of my pregnancy but have days that are better than others
