Hi all, I am around 5 weeks preg. Had some slight pains this morning but only lasted 1/2 hours. Went to loo an hour ago and there was blood on the tissue, when 20 mins ago and nothing and just been again and blood again. If I go for a scan will they be able to see anything or is it best to wait. I have also been advised that it there is something called implantation bleeding when egg is implanting itself. Any suggestions. xx

I had bleeding at about 5 or 6wks - they could determine the egg sac was still there with a quick scan but were very cautious about advising what could happen next. I went to A&E but I would not advise this - rather try to get a referral to an early pregnancy clinic from GP as they are much more caring obviously & experienced. I had almost weekly bleeding so had many trips to my local one (luckily end result was good - DS now 2.5). I think they can detect the heartbeat at around 6-7wks, possibly needing an internal scan. If poss, get a pic of any positive scans even if very early - I felt that this would have been a comfort, albeit small, if it hadn't worked out.

Hope this is just a blip in a healthy pregnancy for you.

Hi emmywoo just want to let you know I also had bleeding at 5/6 weeks, just as you describe, brown first then spotting on tissue. It never increased and I had no cramping, and it stopped after a day and a night.

I called my gp and he thought it was late to be implantation bleeding, but all went well and dd is now a happy 7-month old.

Sending good thoughts to you for a similar outcome. x

Sorry meant to say I had no MORE cramping. Had slight cramps before the bleeding as you describe.
