So it's the middle of the night, I'm 34+3, baby is 2/5 engaged and well. I'm awake obviously and am fighting this enormous urge to clean the fridge out. Admittedly it's been a while but even so... Anyone else having weird nesting instincts?

Smile I'll order a cab for you to pop over, mine could do with a good going over! Am only 25 weeks but have already gone through all the paperwork in the house and put into separate folders, bought a pack of 20 but still need to get more as am unsatisfied that I've had to double up on a couple of things. Assume that's nesting not OCD as before I was preggers statements, bills, receipts etc were all just chucked in various drawers throughout the house.... I wonder what will get organised next?

AlbaDeTamble · 11/09/2010 07:24

Girls, please, please, head over to mine. Fridge needs attention as does my filing and I lost all my organisation skills when I had DS1 Blush, which reminds me I need to do my tax return before baby arrives, can't leave it till the deadline this year.... groan

Sam, hope you got back to sleep and you haven't really been cleaning out the fridge all night Shock

Hmm, not actually doing any nesting, but bought a new notebook and pen this week (OCD?) and made the mother of all "to do" lists. 31 weeks and no chance of accomplishing it all as it ranges from cleaning the oven, to getting the exterior of the house painted to making wills.

I have however done one thing which was to top up DS's Child Trust Fund, but then the GPs had given me cheques for that back in June so I had effectively been sitting on the cash in my own account for the last two months Blush.

I just had to get out of bed at 6.30am, open the drawer full of baby clothes and go all squidgey and pathetic at the little tiny soft and cottony snoogley thingsBlush

I'm actually almost disappointed that I've washed and sorted all my newborn and 0-3 month clothes. I feel like sorting the 3-6 months stuff but I know that's silly!
I'm going to have to find more things to clean/wash. Sofa cushion covers next I think.

pinkgrasshopper · 11/09/2010 09:35

I've woken up this morning feeling like that and am only 16 weeks!! Just about to empty out all of the kitchen cupboards and get cleaning them out. Yesterday I baked stuff. DH will be thrilled- ordinarily a domestic goddess I am not.

Bumperlicious · 11/09/2010 10:12

Nope, not nesting at all (unless you count crocheting) but just have a very strong urge to sit on my backside and do nothing! Am 38 weeks. How are you all having the energy to do this stuff?!

SamanthaB123 · 11/09/2010 18:52

You will all be delighted to know that I did force myself to stay in bed but have now cleaned the fridge. I am very happy indeed. I already cleaned everything else so am wondering what to move onto next. I'll probably have a great idea at 4am! I don't know where the energy comes from because I'm quite tired really. I'm like it at work too, I've never been so productive!

I am 26 weeks and have been crawling in and out of the under stairs cupboard ALL day and thrown out 2 binbags of crap from it! Sorted all the filing and even hoovered inside it! Am absolutely bloody knackered now and can't wait for a long hot soak after dinner (cheated and did the lamb in the slow cooker to give me more time in the cupboard!) Who knows, maybe it will have turned bubba head down! Grin

26+5 weeks and spent all yesterday washing the new born and 0-3 clothes, plus sheets and pram blankets so they could dry and air in the summer sunshine.

Today I spent 5 hours in the garden ironing everything. I mean everything, including baby vests and bibs. ffs. And then I ran out of baby things to iron so - get this - I ironed my grim Primark breast feeding/visitor-repelling nighties. Which I'd also washed, because I didn't him to inhale the chemical new clothes residue when snuggled on me.

Dear God, I am going insane. I only iron things if I have to, and then only as I am about to leave the house, and very badly.

I have been taken over.
I am not like this, I swear, this is just too weird.

At about 26 weeks, when my cot and mattress had just been delivered, I got my sister to help me put it together because I couldn't wait for OH to get home and help, then I completely dressed it with sheets, blankets and mobile. I'm now 38+2 and it's so dusty I need to strip it, re-wash the sheets and re-dress. At least that'll give me some much-needed entertainment for an hour or so this week!

I'm 33 weeks.

Last weekend I washed and put away all of dd's old sleephuits, vests, hats etc.

This weekend I have washed all the bits that were kindly given to me, even though they were already spotless and I had told myself not to wash them.

I also sorted out all of dd's old baby toys and cleaned them.

Inbetween doing that I have sorted out every single cupboard and storage space upstairs. I have two black bags of clothes ready for the charity bin.

Now I just need to do downstairs!

Does getting a cleaner count as nesting???
