When did your belly button 'pop'?

Mine has s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d at 26+2 but has not popped yet, and the thought of it stretching so much that it ends up turning inside out makes me want to boak.
I am hoping against hope that it stays in.
But will it?
When did yours pop out?
Or did it stay in?
ethelina · 09/09/2010 17:14
Hasnt yet (40+7)
Miffster · 09/09/2010 17:19
crosses fingers
ethelina · 09/09/2010 17:21
Think it depends what shape you end up towards the end. I'm all front so very little sideways pull . Bellybutton is shallower (I can see the bottom now) but still very much an innie.
Lavitabellissima · 09/09/2010 17:26
I'm 26+3 and mine is completely flat (and rather horrible) it used to go in really far!
I will be sick if mine pops out, you are not alone fingers crossed too
Bearfoot · 09/09/2010 17:36
if it does pop out, does it happen suddenly or gradually?!
ethelina · 09/09/2010 17:42
I know that the last couple of weeks the change in tummy shape each day is seriously noticeable. Especially when the bump drops when baby starts engaging. I imagine it might be a little each day, and one morning - pop - there it is, an outie?
LouM10 · 09/09/2010 17:57
I'm 37+ 3 bebys head has engaged, and I've still got an innie. about 2 month ago it was like a cave. When I wore a tight top, there was a noticeable absence in my belly button region. :)
nunnie · 09/09/2010 18:03
Didn't with DD, and I am 33 weeks today with number 2 and not popped yet.
nancydrewrocked · 09/09/2010 18:06
Mine didn't with 3 previous DC - I would quite like an outie this time but it does make me feel a bit yuk if I think about it!
zazen · 09/09/2010 18:12
My bb stayed an innie, but it was an extreme innie at the start. It too ended up like a cave - a big dimple in a tight top. Sometimes babe's knee would poke it from the inside and it would almost go pop, but never did.
Belly got very big, and after DD was born, my innie had skin peeling off it - I think it was skin - but it was ver disgusting - maybe with an outie you don't get the skin thing.
My linea niger (the black line on my belly) lasted for months and months after DD was born as well(dark skin anyway).
Good luck to all the mummies to be.

I am 35 weeks, mine is an innie sometimes and an outie at other times ATM! It has been like this for about the last week. Weird.
beanlet · 09/09/2010 18:24
Never. Some people just have VERY inny innies.
PickleSarnie · 09/09/2010 18:41
I'm 38+3 and still and innie. It's much flatter but shows no sign of popping.
aly323 · 10/09/2010 04:48
I normally have a " just barely" innie. I swear mine popped at 12 weeks. I'm about 20 weeks now and the thing shows through multiple layers of clothes. At first, it was a little tender, but not anymore. People keep telling me that it's cute...
I'm kind of starting to like it.
fragola · 10/09/2010 08:31
Yesterday, at 24+6.
Giddyup · 10/09/2010 09:21
33 and its half in half out- grim! it went totally out last time, but popped back nicely
yellowflowers · 10/09/2010 09:25
I'm really hoping mine doesn't. Am fat though and it is very deep!
planner26 · 10/09/2010 10:03
Oh go mine popped at 12w! DP won't go anywhere near it!
Miffster · 10/09/2010 10:27
I'm quite encouraged to discover it is not mandatory for the thing to turn inside out.
-sends a quick prayer up-
weegiemum · 10/09/2010 10:28
Mine always stayed in. Praise the Lord! It was the ONE thing I was worried about pre pregnancy!
Sarahlou8 · 10/09/2010 16:18
Mine popped out about two weeks ago - I'm 34 weeks.
I hate it. I either wear floaty patterned tops to hide it, or put a piece of microporous tape over it!!
pinkgrasshopper · 10/09/2010 18:03
Mine's not popped out (I'm only 16 weeks after all!), but this thread echoes my fears, for an unusual reason. Years back when Scary Spice had her first baby she did a magazine interview in which she described how grim it was when her belly button popped. I was years off even thinking about having a baby when I read that but the image has stuck with me, so much so that I'm cleaning mine with cotton buds constantly now I am pg, just in case it does suddenly goes 'pop'...!
CoupleofKooks · 10/09/2010 18:05
mine has never gone back! i am even quite slim (well, maybe not round the tummy)
sophieandbelly · 10/09/2010 18:17
36 weeks and its so far in it looks like a huge black hole!! my dd thinks thats where u talk to the baby!! i must have a huge innie cos never popped with dd either, altho this time my tummy more hairy!!!! yuk
saoirse86 · 10/09/2010 23:55
I've always had a little belly button and it's still little and definitely an innie, just looks like it's kind of being pushed out a little bit. I'm 38 weeks.
