Can nesting kick in at 26 weeks?

Am 26 weeks and usually complete slattern, rarely clean, don;t mind mess, hoover whenever I start sneezing fits etc. Yesterday I had burst of cleaning energy - have deep cleaned entire bathroom and kitchen including soaking taps in vinegar etc. Is it too early to be 'nesting'? My dh will be so thrilled - he claims to hate dirtiness though he never cleans himself so he is stuck with it ha.

Haha, yes, I went through exactly the same at 30 weeks. scrubbed the kitchen from floor to ceiling, got DH to pull out all beds / sofas etc in the house so I could hoover behind them, tidied cupboards etc. Slightly later than you, but definitely seems to be the nesting kicking in. Now 35 weeks and taken to picking individual pieces of fluff off the carpet as I see them, then hoovering just to make sure I got it all. I KNOW it's irrational. I CAN'T stop myself! Wink

I had a real nesting burst a few weeks ago at about 21wks or thereabouts. Spent 2 days scrubbing carpets, sorting drawers & cupboards out etc etc. Just couldn't help myself. Grin

I went on a 3 day cleaning binge at about 18 weeks to the point where I actually canceled a meet up with friends because I was so in to it and didn't want to go out until I'd finished. My husband was very worried, especially because one day I didn't even get dressed, but just cleaned, and cleared out wardrobes, cupboards etc all day. I got over it though, and thank fully am back to my old - fairly clean, but comfortable with a bit of mess - self.

Oh I wished mine would kick in! I just can't be arsed to do anything. I'm only 15+5 though.

Be careful about putting vinegar on taps because I read on MN the other day that it can rust them. Not sure though as I haven't tried it myself, what with being a lazy slattern and all, I don't do tap cleaning! Grin

Think mine has kicked in - have started putting dishes straight in dishwasher, switching it on AND emptying it before bed!! Then kitchen is all nice in the morning, maybe its because I was working away a lot (cabin crew) and now its so nice to be at home every night! Have a real urge to clear out the cupboard under the stairs though - won't tell DH - he'll huff and puff about it!!

I noticed last night that the telly was very grimy - today I am going to attack it with elbow grease. Not just dust you understand, years worth of grime. This is so very unlike me.

Do it all now before you have a massive bump that gets in the way of just about everything!!! I did all the nursery and mega-spring clean at 20-odd weeks and am soooooo glad now I'm 36 weeks that I can sit on my bum and not have to do anything...although cleaning might need to be done again (a job for dp?!)
