I am 36+4 weeks - over the last few days, I have felt the baby moving a lot less than before. I am wondering if this is normal or something I should be concerned about?

I can still feel the suggested 10ish movements (its squirming as I type) but much fewer definate kicks etc. Could it be its moved into a different position or something?

any thoughts?

It is normal I think. The baby is just too big to move as vigorously as it did before because there's not so much room. Luckily, otherwise it might decide not to bother coming out. Think how curled up a new baby is - even after they are born they take a while to stretch out into the world. If you are worried you should go to be reassured by your midwife - don't feel silly - you're not and if you're unsure get some hands on checks. But all of mine slowed down in the last month. Getting ready for the big push and saving energy?!

Get yourself and baby checked out. If you are worried then you must go with your gut instinct xx

Yep - think I will ask someone - am at hosp tomorrow for a consultants appt about VBAC so might ask someone to get a heart monitor out!

Maybe it is getting ready!!

I overheard a consultant telling another woman last week that women in the final stages think they can't feel the baby moving because they are not feeling punches. The nature of the movement changes because of the reasons WoodyAllen gives. I am 34 weeks and though I am still getting the odd punch, squirming is exactly what the LO is doing most these days.

However, I also agree with Bonsaibab that you should always ask to be checked out if you are worried.
