21 week scan babies has large head

Just wondered if anyone else has had this.. Just measured above 95th centile so have to go back and see how much larger it has got at 34 weeks.. Anyone else had this.. Gone on to have big baby? Natrual birth? Dd1 was 7lb 8oz..natrual birth but 3degree tear Was long and head was big but not had this before.. Help worried my baby will be huge???

Hi, I remember getting the measurements at my 20 week scan with my daughter and seeing that her head measurement was off the scale!

Nobody seemed in the slightest bit concerned by it but I was convinced I was going to have some bizarre big headed alien child. But had a very easy, spontaneous labour at 38 weeks and she looked gorgeous and weighed 6lb 10oz. I had a slight internal tear but only because she came out with her hand next to her face, nothing to do with the size of her head!

Just had 29 week scan and head was measuring 34 weeks! Was told sometimes some bits grow faster than others and probably now head growth will slow down and everything else will catch up. Hope so!

yes, all mine had giant heads at the scan.

they all had big heads when born too.

i wasn't asked back for another scan tho... and they were all born fine vaginally

Thank you all feel better now and less worried about my big headed baby :) fingers crossed the rest of the body catches up soonx
