It was amazing, the sonographer was absolutely fantastic! Rather than doing all the measurements in silence and then talking, he took us through everything, what he was doing and why, pointed out what we were seeing on the screen and was just generally lovely.

It was the best scan I have ever had (not had that many though lol as I only have one other dc). We also found out we are expecting a little boy and I am over the moon as I have already been blessed with my 5 yo dd, so one of each is just so lucky.

Sorry to be gushy, but it was just such a brilliant experience that I wanted to share. :)

So nice to hear positive stories on here, and congratulations Rocklover. I can imagine you can't stop grinning from ear to ear at the moment. Grin

Yep, permanent grinning here!

have mine on friday and hope I get as lovely a sonographer as you did! my last one did her job but her bedside manner was rubbish- she might as well have been examining a boiled egg from all the conversation I was getting. I won't be finding out the sex, DH doesn't want to know, I'm very tempted- will be having a good look at the screen to see if I can tell! Already have a DS.

That's so lovely to hear! I had mine last week and had a hilarious Polish guy, I thought he was good but yours sounds fab. Congrats again! x

Rock am glad it went so well. And congrats on your baby boy. I hope you are feeling better xx

It's good to hear you so positive! I've had 2 brilliant scans and think it makes a real difference when the sonographer talks you through what they're seeing and doing, it calms the nerves (a bit!).
I had a funny consultant last week who told me HE had had a dream recently where he gave birth to his own baby, he thought he could now empathise. I didn't ask him which hole it came out of, tmi!!!!

I had mine yesterday and my sonographer was just the same - very informative and chatty and pointing out things neither DH or I could really see tbh. Complete change from the one I had when I had DD (at a different hospital). She wasn't able to be absolutely definite about the sex but I'm due some more scans because of a low-ish placenta and to check fibroid progress so hopefully we'll get a better chance to find out again.
