Im slightly worried and wanted some reassurance that this is probably a normal worry that others have felt as well as me!

First pregnancy i hadnt experienced the proper feeling of 'tiredness' day in day out as it only started once sleep deprivation kicked in after his arrival! 2 and a half years after that arrival i am now 33 weeks pregnant with no.2 and am not quite sure how i would cope with labour if it ran the same as last time - 26 hrs from first contractions to birth starting at 9:30am meaning no sleep for 2+days. Im so tired at 9pm i lie in bed and think - crap!If i go into labour rite now i really just dont have the energy to push a baby out!

How on earth will i cope?!

Please tell me this is a general worry second time mothers go through and that my body will automatically be full of energy on the day!

I remember thinking this! Honestly don't worry, your body will know what to do this time, and will be full of all the adrenaline and hormones that you need. You won't worry about it on the day, you will just do it!

Oh god, yes, completely normal. But we do manage, just shows how bloody amazing us women are doesn't it? I even managed to do a degree in midwifery whilst pregnant with dd2, just the thought of it makes me feel tired now!!
99% of women I deliver say to me 'I'm so tired, I'l never cope with labour' but the vast majority of them do. I've never yet had a woman who says 'god, I'm just so full of energy and up for this labour malarky!!'. I found a few sessions of acupuncture in the run up to my due date really helped.
And don't forget, for most women their second labour is much quicker than their first.

Thank you. Grin

And yes i am hoping this time around will be a lot quicker than last time!

Id never really thought about it until the last week or so, then it hits me each time i get to bed when im shattered at night.

Im sure i will get through it but ive heard these labour stories where mums are just so exhausted that they end up having a c-section because they have no energy left to push and i really dont want that to be me.
