Fish question

I've been taking a very high quality fish oil for some months now. I do eat fish but not with huge regularity (i.e not twice a week). A friend who is also pregnant and is taking the same fish oil has been eating oily fish twice a week and has asked me if there is any danger in 'overdosing' on the fish + oils. Anyone know?

I'd double check with the fish oils. I don't think it's recommended during preg because of high levels of vitamin A - I could be wrong.

As for oily fish I think it's good but there is a weekly limit. The whole fish has more to offer than the concentrated oil.

The food standards agency recommendations for pregnant women might be a good starting point.

Yes, the fish oils are specifically for pregnant women so they are recommended. The question is more about taking oils AND eating fish

Think it should be okay as the supplements are specifically for pregnancy. The limits on eating oily fish are more to do with the amount of mercury and other toxins that ends up in fish these days afaik.
