Empty Sac..so upset

Hi,

After having a little blood loss on two occasions last Friday (it was bright red and watery, not a huge amount but not just spotting and enough to wear a pad). I went to the docs who booked me in for a scan at EPU on Monday. Over the weekend I had dark brown spotting but nothing else.

The scan showed what they thought was an empty sac, I was 6 weeks & 3 days on Monday. I had blood taken and had another blood test this morning. I have to call for the results tomorrow to see if my levels have dropped or risen.

Since Sun morning I have had no spotting at all.

I just wondered if anyone else has had/is having this happen and what was the outcome. I can't stop crying as my husband and I were so excited when I got a positive test.

Oh Jaffacake, it sounds rather like the way my MMC went like.

I really hope for you it isnt the same outcome. For me I had brown spotting (not enough for a pad) I told the midwife, she wasnt concerned. I went for a private scan, that showed, empty sac, termed as an Early Embrionic Demise. I was so shocked I was 8+ wks, I thought I was pregnant but alas, it didnt really 'happen'.

I went to my GP who booked me for scan at the EPc, which sadly was the same result. As I hadn't miscarried naturally I was booked in for an ERPC.
It is toatlly gutting and devastating, a positive is wonderful news, but a MC isn't!

Good luck. you will find so many answers on here and so many people will give you good advice.
HUGS

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry to hear about your MC, it's so heartbreaking isn't it. The wait until tomorrow morning is killing me, it's also annoying because my boobs are still so so tender as well. I'm constantly on google as well looking for any glimmer of hope!

I suppose we have to feel blessed that we're able to get pregnant as I know for some it can take years if at all.

Thanks for your reply Notheroldie x

Poor you, I totally sympathise - something similar happened to me in January. I didn't hold out any hope as my symptoms disappeared, so my boobs were no longer sore, etc. The scan showed "debris", not even an empty sac and I didn't have the second blood test done - I was bleeding continuously by then anyway. But it sounds like they are not completely sure, so don't rule out good news completely.

My way of dealing with it was to get pg again as soon as possible, and luckily I did and am expecting my baby next month. But it does feel like I have been pg for a very long time. Good luck with everything.
